Warmth and affection in spring
In the final days of the year, the "Spring on the Border, Tet on the Islands" program organized by Tien Hai commune brought the spirit of Tet early to the people. At the program, many Tet gifts were given to policy beneficiary families, poor households, and households with difficult circumstances, contributing to sharing and encouraging people before the New Year. During the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Horse, the Fatherland Front, various departments, and mass organizations of the commune mobilized donations of over 300 gift packages for disadvantaged families, policy beneficiary families, and poor students, with a total cost of over 150 million VND. Chairman of the People's Committee of Tien Hai commune, Chung Loi Hung, said: "Taking care of the people during Tet, especially policy beneficiary families and households with difficult circumstances, is a top priority for the commune every spring. Through the 'Spring on the Border, Tet on the Islands' program, the commune hopes that all people on the island will be able to celebrate Tet in a warm, meaningful, joyful, and complete atmosphere."
The atmosphere at the gift-giving ceremony was warm and friendly. Handshakes and sincere greetings were meaningful gifts for the people of the island commune. Mr. Danh Thang, a resident of Tien Hai commune, shared: “This year's Tet is happier than in previous years. Receiving visits and gifts from the government and organizations before Tet makes the people on the island feel very warm-hearted, as if spring has arrived earlier.”
Social welfare activities during Tet contribute to caring for the material well-being of the people and further strengthen the close relationship between the government, organizations, and the people, thereby spreading the spirit of solidarity and mutual support - a beautiful tradition of the nation. The participation of youth union members contributed to the success of the program. The Secretary of the Tien Hai Commune Youth Union, Phan Thi Thuy Diem, said: “We hope that through the program “Spring on the Border, Tet on the Islands,” we can contribute to sharing difficulties and bringing the joy of Tet to the people, especially policy beneficiary families and children in the island commune.”
Vibrant colors of spring
Not only is the Spring Festival of the Year of the Horse (Bính Ngọ) on Tien Hai island commune warm with camaraderie, but it is also vibrant with its well-invested and carefully curated cultural space. The elaborately decorated spring flower street, prominently featuring the Year of the Horse mascot, has become a lively highlight, attracting many locals and tourists to visit and take photos. The bright colors of the flowers, combined with the sunshine and sea breeze, brighten Tien Hai's appearance in the early days of the new year. Furthermore, the spring flower street is neatly and orderly organized, creating a space for community cultural activities. Mr. Chung Loi Hung shared: “These cultural and social activities during Tet not only contribute to improving the spiritual life of the island commune's residents but also create a highlight, helping Tien Hai gradually become a friendly and culturally rich destination.”
The highlight of the Lunar New Year celebrations is the New Year's Eve cultural performance. Songs celebrating the Party and the spring, praising the homeland, the sea, and the islands, performed by local singers and cultural groups, promise to evoke many profound emotions. The moment of New Year's Eve becomes sacred as artistic fireworks illuminate the sky of the island commune, reflecting on the sparkling sea, conveying hopes for a peaceful and prosperous new year. Visiting Tien Hai island commune for the first time, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen, a resident of Ho Chi Minh City, said: “I am impressed with the atmosphere of Tet preparations on the island commune. The peaceful sea and island environment, the beautiful flower-lined streets, are both familiar and novel. If we have time, my family will visit Tien Hai again on the 4th day of Tet.”
The Spring Festival of the Year of the Horse in Tien Hai was not only vibrant with flowers, lights, and spring melodies, but also imbued with the spirit of unity and solidarity among the government, organizations, and people. Practical and humane activities contributed to a more fulfilling and warm Tet holiday for the people of the island commune, instilling confidence and motivation for Tien Hai to confidently bước into the new year.
