Release 4 animals listed in the Red Book to Hon Ba Nature Reserve

On the afternoon of August 21, a representative of the Hon Ba Nature Reserve Management Board said that the unit had just coordinated with the Nha Trang - Dien Khanh Forest Protection Department and the Cam Lam - Cam Ranh Forest Protection Department to release into the natural habitat 4 animals belonging to endangered, critically endangered, precious and rare species listed in the Vietnam Red Book 2007 and the IUCN Red Book. Specifically, 2 pygmy loris (scientific name Nycticebus pygmaeus), 1 Java pangolin (scientific name Manis javanica) and 1 reticulated python (scientific name Python reticulatus) voluntarily handed over by local people were released into the natural habitat in the ecological restoration area of ​​the Hon Ba Nature Reserve by the authorities.

Hon Ba Nature Reserve is a place with high biodiversity. According to incomplete statistics, the flora here has 1,445 species belonging to 708 genera and 174 families; of which 209 are rare species listed in the Vietnam Red Book and the World Red Book. Wildlife in Hon Ba is also rich, distributed in different habitats and altitudes. To date, 77 species of mammals, 224 species of birds, 71 species of reptiles, 48 ​​species of frogs and toads have been recorded; of which 89 are rare and precious species.
