Thai Hoa plays a wealthy businessman.

Thai Hoa said he was excited because after a period of only playing poor characters, he got to portray a wealthy tycoon in the film "The Price of Happiness".

The production team released a teaser trailer on March 4th, introducing Thai Hoa's character, Thoai. The actor said that it had been many years since he last took on a role with such a wealthy image. In recent years, he has been known to audiences for a series of characters with impoverished and difficult lives, such as in "Con Nhot Mot Chong" and "Cay Tao No Hoa".

Thai Hoa said: "I gained more experience playing the role of a mature, wealthy, and powerful man. During the month of filming, I had many emotions, a mix of excitement and nervousness."

The actors' appearances are meticulously styled by the producers, including investment in costumes, often appearing in settings such as villas, yachts, and luxury cars. Thai Hoa said that in everyday life, he has a simple fashion sense, wearing t-shirts and shorts, and his previous roles were also ordinary, so he felt somewhat uncomfortable wearing vests and suits. However, after getting used to the film crew and his colleagues, and feeling the character, Thai Hoa forgot everything else to complete the scenes. "I don't expect or have high expectations. The audience just needs to remember the character I play, they don't need to remember who Thai Hoa is," the actor said.

Director Nguyen Ngoc Lam said that when writing the script, he had already envisioned Thai Hoa playing the role of a wealthy businessman. During filming, he was pleased with the actor's attitude and how he embodied the character, inspiring everyone around him.

The film revolves around the story of Mr. Thoai (Thai Hoa), Mrs. Duong (Xuan Lan), and their children – all proud of their wealth and moral character. However, faced with life's difficulties, conflicts, and challenges, they choose to handle them in unexpected ways. It seemed that fame and money would build happiness, but instead, they all become a burden, suffocating and trapping those who were "born with a silver spoon in their mouths." The project conveys the message: "The price of happiness is always paid with pain. In family life, empathy between members is the most important thing."

The cast also includes Huu Chau, Quang Minh, Uyen An, Truong Thanh Long, Lam Thanh Nha, Be Quyen, and Tram Anh. The film was primarily shot in Ho Chi Minh City and will be released in theaters in April.

Thai Hoa, 50 years old, born in Ho Chi Minh City, has made an impression in many films such as "To Mai Tinh," "Long Ruoi," and "Cuoi Ngay Keo Lo." In 2020, he participated in "Tiec Trang Mau" (Blood Moon Party) directed by Quang Dung - a film that ranked among the top 5 highest-grossing Vietnamese films of all time (175 billion VND). Besides acting, he is also a screenwriter and author of two hit works: "Nguoi Vo Ma" (The Ghost Wife) and "Qua Tim Mau" (Blood Heart).

Regarding his personal life, he has experienced one failed marriage. In 2012, the actor married Hong Thu, who is 11 years younger than him, and they have a son who is currently in the 5th grade.
