Located in an area with more than 5,000 fossilized dinosaur footprints recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage, this place is also highlighted by the Gyeongnam Goseong Dinosaur World Exhibition, an attractive tourist event that combines modern technology and performing arts.

Goseong is a small, peaceful coastal town famous for its fresh seafood, but it is the dinosaur heritage that is the “treasure” that puts Goseong on the world tourism map. Apart from Colorado (USA) and the West Coast of Argentina, there are few places that still preserve as many rare fossils as here. Taking advantage of its unique resources, Goseong has built the Dinosaur Exhibition Center, the first dinosaur museum in Korea, which is both a place for scientific research and provides an educational and entertaining experience.
Launched in 2006, the Gyeongnam Goseong Dinosaur World Exhibition has attracted more than 7.5 million visitors, becoming one of the few events organized by local governments that can reach international standards. Not only recreating a lost era with the latest technology, the event also inspires the younger generation about science, archaeology, as well as a passion for creativity. Many experts from the US and Korea have commented that this is a potential creative economic model with the combination of entertainment and imagination, similar to how the science fiction series "Jurassic Park" became an icon in global popular culture.
In 2025, the Gyeongnam Goseong Dinosaur World Expo returns from October 1 to November 9. For 33 days, visitors will enter a vibrant space with life-sized dinosaur models, robot performances, fireworks and light shows, circus, street art, and new technology experiences such as dinosaurs recreated with artificial intelligence (AI). With a fusion of science and art, past and present, Goseong is where visitors find joy, knowledge, and even awe at the power of nature from millions of years ago.
