Many gratitude activities
During the journey of building and defending the country, Ca Mau had hundreds of thousands of people volunteering and sacrificing for national independence and freedom. Among the 185,000 people who contributed, many fell, suffered injuries, or became victims of toxic chemicals.
Leaders of Hoa Binh commune visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Le.
Over the past 78 years, the Party and State have always paid attention to implementing policies for people with meritorious services, widely launching the movements "Repaying gratitude", "All people take care of families of war invalids, martyrs and people with meritorious services".
During the “ July of Gratitude ”, many practical and meaningful activities were organized by all levels, sectors and communities to show gratitude to Vietnamese heroic mothers, war invalids and families with meritorious services. Images of union members and young people visiting, giving gifts, cooking warm meals for war invalids, or cleaning and changing flowers on martyrs’ graves have spread the spirit of “repaying gratitude” widely in society.
In Long Dien commune, the “Drinking water, remember the source 1,000 VND ” club has contributed nearly 2 billion VND to build and repair the graves of VNAH mothers, upgrade the martyrs’ monument, build gratitude houses, commemorate mothers, and donate altars to families with meritorious services. Many associations and organizations also support “Gratitude gardens and fish ponds”, production facilities, vocational training and jobs for children of meritorious people.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phuoc Long commune presented a "Fish Pond of Gratitude" to a policy family in My 2 hamlet.
Improve material and spiritual life for employees
Currently, the province has more than 21,680 meritorious people receiving monthly allowances, with a total budget of over 60 billion VND. The province has effectively implemented central policies, mobilized businesses to support VNAH Mothers for life, and supported 1/4 and 2/4 class war invalids with 1 million VND/month each. In addition to the housing support level according to regulations, the province also supports an additional 10 million VND for newly built houses and 5 million VND for repaired houses.
Mr. Ngo Vu Thang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that the movement of gratitude has increasingly spread widely not only in sectors and levels of government but also received support and companionship from people and businesses. Since then, the lives of policy families and NCC in the province have been increasingly improved.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Da, a policy family in Chau Thoi commune, was moved to thank the local Party Committee and government for supporting her to rebuild her family's dilapidated house.
To celebrate the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, Ca Mau province organized many activities such as: establishing delegations (assigning comrades in the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Council, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation as heads of delegations) to visit and give gifts to families of policy beneficiaries and NCC in 64 communes and wards of the province; upgrading and renovating martyrs' cemeteries and martyrs' monuments; organizing visits and incense offerings at the Temple of President Ho Chi Minh ; simultaneously offering incense, flowers, and lighting candles in gratitude at martyrs' cemeteries.
In particular, Ca Mau has just completed the construction of 3,705 houses for NCC. This is considered a very meaningful gift of gratitude from the province, contributing to creating a foundation for NCC families to settle down and work with peace of mind, to produce, and to improve their lives.
Continuing to promote the tradition of gratitude, in the coming time, the province will focus on better taking care of policy families and beneficiaries, especially paying attention to vocational training, supporting loans, and creating jobs for beneficiaries and their children.
