Many activities to show appreciation

Throughout the history of nation-building and national defense, the Ca Mau region has seen hundreds of thousands of people voluntarily dedicate themselves and make sacrifices for national independence and freedom. Among the 185,000 meritorious individuals, many have fallen, suffered injuries, or become victims of chemical warfare agents.

Leaders of Hoa Binh commune visited and presented gifts to Heroic Vietnamese Mother Nguyen Thi Le.

For the past 78 years, the Party and the State have consistently paid attention to implementing policies for those who have rendered meritorious services, launching widespread movements such as "Paying gratitude and repaying kindness" and "All citizens caring for families of wounded soldiers, martyrs and those who have rendered meritorious services".

During " July, the Month of Gratitude ," many practical and meaningful activities were organized by all levels of government, sectors, and the community to express gratitude to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, war invalids, and families of fallen soldiers. Images of youth union members visiting, giving gifts, and cooking warm meals for the mothers and war invalids, or cleaning and changing the flowers at the graves of martyrs, have spread the spirit of "repaying gratitude" widely throughout society.

In Long Dien commune, the "Remembering the Source of Water" Club has contributed nearly 2 billion VND to build and repair the tombs of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, upgrade the memorial house for martyrs, build houses of gratitude, hold memorial services for Mothers, and donate altars to families of policy beneficiaries. Many associations and organizations also support "Gardens of Gratitude and Fish Ponds," provide means of production, vocational training, and jobs for the children of those who have rendered meritorious services.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phuoc Long commune presented a "Fish Pond of Compassion" to a family receiving preferential treatment in My 2 hamlet.

Improving the material and spiritual well-being of people with disabilities.

Currently, the province has over 21,680 people with meritorious service receiving monthly allowances, with a total budget exceeding 60 billion VND. The province has effectively implemented central government policies, mobilized businesses to provide lifelong support to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, and provided 1 million VND per month to each disabled veteran of categories 1/4 and 2/4. In addition to the housing support stipulated by regulations, the province also provides an extra 10 million VND for newly built houses and 5 million VND for house repairs.

Mr. Ngo Vu Thang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that the movement of showing gratitude and repaying kindness is increasingly spreading widely, not only within government agencies and levels but also receiving support and cooperation from the people and businesses. As a result, the lives of policy beneficiary families and people with meritorious services in the province are improving.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Da, a beneficiary of government policies in Chau Thoi commune, expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the support from the local Party committee and government in rebuilding her family's dilapidated house.

To commemorate the 78th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs, Ca Mau province organized many activities such as: forming delegations (assigned members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation as heads of delegations) to visit and present gifts to policy beneficiary families and war invalids in the province's 64 communes and wards; upgrading and renovating martyrs' cemeteries and memorial plaques; organizing visits and offering incense at the Temple of President Ho Chi Minh ; and simultaneously offering incense, flowers, and lighting candles in gratitude at martyrs' cemeteries.

In particular, Ca Mau province has just completed the construction of 3,705 houses for people with disabilities. This is considered a very meaningful gift of gratitude from the province, contributing to creating a foundation for families of people with disabilities to settle down, work and produce with peace of mind, and improve their lives.

Continuing to uphold the tradition of showing gratitude and repaying kindness, in the coming time the province will focus on doing even better in caring for policy beneficiary families and people with meritorious services, especially paying attention to vocational training, supporting loans, and creating jobs for people with meritorious services and their children.
