In 2024, the City will implement 6 projects, including: Renovation of Nam La stream embankment; urban renovation for Lunar New Year 2025; painting of lines and speed bumps on traffic routes; renovation of White Bridge flower garden, October 26 park; archway system of Hoang Quoc Viet street and Hung Vuong street, Chieng Coi ward; electrical system to decorate central routes of the City. In 2025, the City will continue to implement 2 projects, including: project to renovate and upgrade Hoang Quoc Viet street and project to invest in construction of square and flower garden in the area in front of the headquarters of the City Party Committee, People's Council - People's Committee of Son La city.
The City People's Committee has developed a plan, assigned specific tasks to departments and units in charge of coordinating with construction units to urge the implementation of projects to ensure progress and quality. To date, 3 projects have been completed and put into use, including: Renovation of Nam La stream embankment; urban renovation to serve the Lunar New Year 2025; renovation of White Bridge Flower Garden and October 26 Park.
The project to renovate the Nam La stream embankment, from the White Bridge to the B Bridge, Northwest Square, has a total investment of 895 million VND. The Urban Environment and Services Joint Stock Company is the contractor with the following items: Leveling the stream bed, adding embankments to raise water downstream of the White Bridge; cleaning, repairing, upgrading the walking path, painting the walls on both sides of the stream embankment; collecting trash, cutting grass on the stream bed; dredging part of the mud, soil and transporting mud and soil waste to the designated place and some other items. The project started in December 2024 and was completed at the end of January 2025. The clearing and renovating of the stream helps reduce pollution, creates an urban highlight, and creates an ideal space for people to relax and stroll.
Implementing the project to renovate the White Bridge Flower Garden and October 26 Park in Son La City, Kim Son Company Limited has focused its human resources to implement the project since the end of January 2025. Accordingly, the unit has paved the walkway of the White Bridge Flower Garden and the October 26 Park yard; cleaned the old brick floor and renovated the old flower beds with a total area of about 2,800 m2 and some other items, with a total investment of over 2.2 billion VND. Up to now, the items have been basically completed and are preparing for acceptance and put into use. The project has been completed, receiving the support of the community, creating a highlight in the landscape architecture of the central intersection of the City, meeting the requirements of organizing major holidays and annual political events, towards welcoming the Party Congress at all levels for the 2025-2030 term.
Urban renovation projects are invested in and built, bringing innovation to Son La city and demonstrating a sustainable development strategy, gradually perfecting and improving urban quality, striving to complete and improve indicators and criteria towards basically meeting the criteria of a type I urban area.
