Nhiều hộ dân mạnh dạn đầu tư chăn nuôi bò siêu thịt, mang lại hiệu quả kinh tế cao
Many households have boldly invested in raising beef cattle, yielding high economic returns.

In 2011, the family of Ms. Ma Siêu, a Chu Ru ethnic minority member from Ma Bó village, Đa Quyn commune, purchased a breeding cow for nearly 10 million VND. Thanks to good care and disease prevention, the cow reproduced continuously. After 7 years, Ms. Ma Siêu's herd of cows had grown to 12.

In the following years, Mrs. Ma Sieu's family sold between 4 and 6 cows each year, at an average price of about 20 million VND per cow. Currently, Mrs. Ma Sieu owns a herd of 23 cows. From a poor household, thanks to cattle farming, Mrs. Ma Sieu's family has risen out of poverty and developed economically.

Ms. Ma Sieu happily shared: “Raising cattle here is very convenient. Besides the vast pastures, we also grow grass, so the feed for the cows is guaranteed. Moreover, if we follow the guidance of the agricultural extension officers, the herd thrives. If we didn't raise cattle, it would be very difficult to escape poverty. Since we started selling cows, we have money to provide for our children's education and cover our living expenses.”

Besides small-scale livestock farmers, many households in Duc Trong commune, who are ethnic minorities, have boldly invested in farm-based, closed-loop production processes, and are even aggressively developing the raising of high-yield beef cattle for high economic efficiency.

Mr. Dung Minh Truong, a Cham ethnic minority member from Phu Ao village, Ta Hine commune, shared: “Raising cattle helps my family solve the problem of idle labor. I've been raising cattle for two years now. Recently, I sold six cows for over 200 million VND. Thanks to raising cattle in pens, I can utilize the manure to fertilize over 1 hectare of various vegetables.”

Thanks to cattle farming, Mrs. Ma Sieu's family escaped poverty and their economy developed.

It is known that five years ago, the total cattle population in the three ethnic minority communes of Duc Trong district—Da Quyn, Ta Nang, and Ta Hine—was only over 2,500, but now it has grown to 8,000. Many localities have established cattle farming cooperatives, creating favorable conditions for people in the region to learn from and exchange experiences with each other.

According to Ms. Ma Vuong Nai Huyen, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ta Hine commune, the commune annually organizes training courses on cattle farming techniques for local people, guiding them on selecting breeding cattle, building proper barns, and implementing disease prevention measures, especially during the rainy season when cattle are susceptible to disease. They also maintain and expand the area for grass cultivation to ensure a reliable feed supply. Furthermore, the local government facilitates access to preferential interest rate loans, enabling farmers to invest in cattle farming and expand their operations towards farm-scale production.

“During the cattle farming process, we also advise households with large-scale and large-scale farming to build barns far from residential areas to ensure environmental hygiene… From cattle farming, households have a source of manure to fertilize crops. Thanks to the combination of livestock farming and crop cultivation, the socio-economic life of farmers in ethnic minority areas has developed,” Ms. Huyen shared.
