Previously, there were reports that Microsoft was aiming for next year's release of the next version of Windows, following a major internal meeting aimed at altering the company's Windows development schedule.
According to an Intel executive, 2024 will be a pretty good year for customers, especially thanks to the Windows refresh, and they still believe the current platform is quite old and needs updating.
In addition, Windows Central has released a new report stating that development of the next Windows update “has accelerated over the past few months.” The update is now in full development and is expected to be completed by mid-2024.
The Windows 12 operating system will be released in 2024.
The information appears to be unofficial confirmation that a major update to Windows will be released next year, possibly in the form of “Windows 12”. The term “refresh” was also used during the development of Windows 11, before its official launch in June 2021.
Additionally, several other sources have revealed that the next version of Windows will focus on deeper AI integration and a cloud experience designed to make Windows more efficient. A new interface is also being developed along with improvements, and the operating system may even not require a registry key to use.
Currently, Microsoft sells Windows 11 Home for $139, but users can apply various discount codes or offers that bring the price down to around $20. To change customer perception, Microsoft will have to offer truly attractive pricing and new features.
The most suitable time to release Windows 12 is next fall.
