BHG - When the first rays of summer sunlight pierce through the flame tree canopy onto the schoolyard, the cicadas begin their call for glorious days ahead. Exam season arrives, bringing with it sleepless nights and aspirations for a bright future. It's also a special time for students, immersed in the mournful, echoing chirping of cicadas.
Summer arrives, a time filled with nostalgia for school days. The days of innocent youth pass peacefully, leading into the sunny summer days of farewells, marked by the tearful farewell notes of graduating students. Amidst the buzzing of cicadas, a sense of anticipation and urgency sets in as they prepare to part ways with their teachers and school, leaving behind the clear skies of their sunny years.

Anyone who has passed their school years will surely not forget the excitement of early summer, the increasing rhythm of cicadas in the schoolyard, making the space seem to be dedicated solely to their chirping. But the noisy, mischievous cicadas didn't bother the students; on the contrary, it was like a symphony with a melody meant only for school-age children. And perhaps only school-age children can truly understand and "sympathize" with the carefree nature of the summer cicada chorus.
Amidst the cicadas chirping among the flame trees, beneath the drooping branches of the old mahogany trees in the schoolyard, beside the pensive, melancholic, and absent-minded gaze of someone with long hair looking out the window; yet someone else is diligently immersed in their studies, determined to make the final push for the exams. There's the image of someone spending countless sleepless nights studying, drifting off to sleep with a dream of success at their desk, oblivious to the teasing of the cicadas, only to awaken suddenly, their ears ringing with the mournful sound of the cicadas.
A sudden summer rain poured down, soaking the lush green foliage and momentarily silencing the cicadas. But as soon as the rain stopped and the sun shone through the classroom window, the cicadas resumed their chorus, filling the sky with their in unison. These sounds seeped deep into the souls of those in school uniforms. Therefore, in the yearbooks of the 9th and 12th graders, whenever they are opened, everyone will surely sense the faint sounds of cicadas, the vibrant red of the flamboyant trees, and all the special emotions of their school years.
In the final days of high school, nothing is more poignant and memorable than the sound of cicadas in the sun-drenched air. It urges time on, making everyone forget the heat. As exams approach, the sound of cicadas becomes even more special, like a farewell melody to the school. And then, after the final exams, as they part ways to new horizons, every summer, former students will surely fondly remember those beautiful summer moments under the roof of their old school.
So many exam seasons have passed in each person's life, each season filled with the bustling, poignant sound of cicadas. Having gone through those exam seasons, stepping out into the world and gradually becoming hardened by the years, suddenly summer arrives, and the midday cicadas' chirping reminds me of those days of studying. So many long nights, studying until my eyes were blurry and my back ached, but the chorus of cicadas spurred us students on, helping us overcome the threshold of exams and reach those moments of overwhelming happiness. Therefore, the summer cicada symphony remains an unforgettable melody in my heart.
Summers repeat themselves, with countless generations of students passing by amidst the buzzing of cicadas. Whenever I hear the cicadas heralding summer, I remember the tears shed during the farewells of my literature teacher and my tearful classmates from years past. After decades, amidst the hustle and bustle of life, many of us still cherish the beautiful moments of a time of sunshine and the mournful chirping of cicadas urging us to prepare for exams.
