Tran Minh Ha achieved a total admission score of 29.75 points, including 9.25 points in Literature, 9.5 points in Mathematics, 10 points in Foreign Language, and 1 point for priority consideration. This is a very high score, especially considering that this year's exam was assessed as having a certain degree of differentiation in some subjects.
The top-scoring results also highlight the fierce competition in the 10th-grade entrance exam in Hanoi. According to the cutoff scores announced by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, nine non-specialized public high schools require 25 points or more, meaning candidates must achieve an average of over 8.3 points per subject to have a chance of being admitted.
Leading in admission scores are three high schools: Yen Hoa High School, Kim Lien High School, and Le Quy Don High School - Ha Dong, all with 26 points. Following closely behind are Phan Dinh Phung High School, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School, and Viet Duc High School with 25.75 points.
Compared to the highest cutoff score of 26 points, valedictorian Tran Minh Ha scored 3.75 points higher, equivalent to an average of about 1.25 points higher in each subject. This shows that even at the most competitive schools, the gap between the cutoff score and the group of outstanding candidates remains quite large.
In 2025, Hanoi recorded 8 valedictorians who all achieved 28.75 points. This year, the top position belongs to a single candidate with a total score of 29.75, 1 point higher than the group of valedictorians from the previous year.
