The €75 million 'blockbuster' deal falls through.

Victor Osimhen rejected a €30 million contract offer from Al-Hilal, even though the Saudi Pro League club was close to finalizing a deal with Napoli.

Osimhen refused to play football in Saudi Arabia.

Napoli want to sell Osimhen in the summer 2025 transfer window, with a release clause worth €75 million applicable to teams outside Serie A. Al-Hilal have agreed to pay the full amount to activate the Nigerian striker's release clause.

Al-Hilal is making every effort to bring Osimhen to the team as soon as possible in time for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. Under the guidance of coach Simone Inzaghi, the Saudi team even offered the striker a huge contract worth 30 million euros per season. However, Osimhen decided to reject the offer.

According to The Athletic , Osimhen's rejection of Al-Hilal is considered his final decision. The striker has expressed his desire to continue playing in Europe. Galatasaray may return with another offer to permanently sign Osimhen. During his loan spell in Istanbul, Osimhen scored 37 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions.

A year ago, Osimhen rejected an offer from Chelsea because the salary wasn't as good as what he earned at Napoli, around €11 million per year. Negotiations with Saudi Arabian clubs also failed, and he eventually moved to Galatasaray on loan.
