Informing reporters, comrade Dang Van Dung, Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee, said that the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee assessed that the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity continued to be implemented vigorously and systematically, achieving many practical results. The Central Inspection Committee was very determined in inspecting and supervising topics and cases according to the conclusions of the Steering Committee; proactively, actively, and innovatively, shifting the focus of work to monitoring, warning, and preventing violations early and from afar; focusing on regularly monitoring the leadership, direction, and implementation of key tasks for national development according to the resolutions and conclusions of the Central Committee, especially the operation of local governments at two levels and the organization of party congresses at all levels.

Since the 28th Session of the Steering Committee, Party committees and functional agencies have made great efforts, closely coordinated, and closely followed the requirements and tasks set out, especially the 4 requirements and 6 tasks stated in the Conclusion of the 28th Session. Many cases and incidents have been focused on investigation and thoroughly handled; at the same time, a number of new cases of high warning nature were discovered, especially subjects in criminal gangs and groups hiding under the guise of businesses colluding with corrupt and degenerate officials for personal gain. Prosecution agencies across the country have closely coordinated, and in the past 3 months alone, 443 new cases have been prosecuted. with 1,488 defendants for corruption, economic and position crimes; completed handling of many key cases according to the Steering Committee's plan; focused on prosecuting, expanding investigations, and strictly handling criminals in the production and trade of counterfeit and poor-quality goods...

The Standing Committee of the Steering Committee acknowledged the Government and ministries, branches and localities for their efforts in directing the review, classification and handling of 2,991 cases. projects and works that are behind schedule and have been left unfinished for a long time; focus on directing the removal of difficulties and obstacles, putting into operation and using many projects and works in accordance with the direction of the Steering Committee, which is not to let waste continue, but also not to legalize violations. The Government Party Committee has also directed ministries, branches and localities to complete the review and actively implement the handling plan for 10,971 surplus houses and lands after the administrative unit arrangement, ensuring effective and proper use, avoiding loss and waste.

Regarding the tasks in the coming time, according to comrade Dang Van Dung, Standing member of the Steering Committee, the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity must be more urgent, drastic and stronger, especially speeding up the progress, completing investigations and thoroughly handling cases and incidents, not letting them drag on to the new term. The focus of the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity must be further shifted to early and remote prevention.

The Standing Committee of the Steering Committee requested to focus on inspecting, examining, investigating, and thoroughly handling corruption, waste, and negative cases that are serious, complicated, and of public concern, and not allowing violations to recur. Resolutely complete this year the handling of slow-progressing and long-standing projects and works, and not allow further waste; speed up the handling of surplus headquarters, houses, and land in localities. Strengthen control of power, prevent and combat corruption, waste, and negative practices associated with building a two-level local government apparatus, ensuring true integrity and serving the people, especially at the grassroots level.

The Standing Committee of the Steering Committee assigned the Central Inspection Committee and the Central Internal Affairs Committee to conduct a comprehensive assessment, fully, accurately and objectively identify loopholes and shortcomings that could lead to corruption, waste and negativity related to the operation of the two-level local government and propose solutions to overcome them, and report to the Politburo, the Secretariat and the Steering Committee in the fourth quarter of 2025. Party committees and organizations at all levels shall strengthen discipline and order, enhance the responsibility of leaders and the self-awareness of each cadre and party member; continue to strictly implement the policy of arranging party secretaries at the commune and provincial levels and a number of related positions who are not local people; thoroughly grasp the "economic accounting" mindset in each program, project and work of the State right from the beginning of implementation, ensuring practicality and effectiveness.

The Standing Committee of the Steering Committee agreed to put the case of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties" at the Central Highlands General Hospital under the Steering Committee's monitoring and direction.
