Yen Xuan commune proactively responds to the remnants of typhoon No. 10, ensuring the safety of its residents.

On the morning of September 30th, the People's Committee of Yen Xuan commune held a meeting to report on the response to Typhoon No. 10 in the commune.

Due to the influence of the circulation of typhoon No. 10, from the afternoon of September 28th and throughout September 29th, moderate to heavy rain fell in Yen Xuan commune, causing landslides in the Cho Co area, village 5, Yen Binh, affecting 4 households. The People's Committee of the commune directed specialized departments, the commune's Military Command, the commune's Police, and local security forces to relocate people and property to safe places; and installed barriers and warning signs.

Due to heavy rain, water levels have risen, causing localized flooding in several areas, such as: Vai Trai culvert, Vai Buoi sluice gate - Lap Thanh village; Khau lake overflow, Cua Khau Dong Xuan village; Hoi Huong culvert; Dam Boi culvert, Dong Tai Yen Trung culvert; Cua Cua culvert - village 1; Vai Bieu Nep - village 3; and the area of ​​village 4. The People's Committee of the commune has directed local security forces to place barricades and warning signs to prevent vehicles from passing through, avoiding damage to people and property.

Typhoon No. 10 also caused damage to property and crops, destroying large areas of rice paddies. The People's Committee of Yen Xuan commune issued a document on proactively implementing measures to respond to landslides in the Cho Co area, Hamlet 5 - Yen Binh, Yen Xuan commune. Commune departments and agencies coordinated with local communities to conduct on-site inspections, disseminate information, and encourage households at risk of landslides and flooding to proactively take preventive measures; and prepared plans to evacuate residents to safe areas in case of an emergency.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Xuan Commune, Phung Khac Son, requested that all departments and agencies of the commune assign officials to organize serious and regular duty shifts, compile and report fully and promptly on weather developments, natural disasters, incidents, damages, and response and remediation efforts following the impact of Typhoon No. 10 to the People's Committee of the commune and the Civil Defense Command of the commune.

The commune's Military Command has prepared a rapid response force for on-site defense, and is coordinating with military units stationed in the area to be ready to respond to and promptly handle emergency situations and mitigate the consequences of Typhoon No. 10...

The commune police regularly coordinate with the commune's Military Command and village heads to have forces ready to guard, control, support, and guide traffic to ensure safe passage for people and vehicles in areas at risk of flooding and landslides, especially in the Cho Co area, village 5 - Yen Binh, resolutely preventing people and vehicles from passing through if safety cannot be guaranteed.

The commune requests all residents to regularly update weather information, strictly comply with the instructions of the government and functional forces; absolutely refrain from traveling, collecting firewood, fishing, or gathering in areas with deep flooding or dangerous landslides; proactively protect property and crops; and ensure the safety of their own lives and families…
