Po Nagar Tower was built to worship the goddess Po Nagar, a goddess revered by the Champa people. She is considered the mother of the land, the protector of land and crops. The Po Nagar Tower complex includes many temples, of which the main tower worshiping the goddess Po Nagar is the most prominent architectural work.

The towers were built of red bricks, with sophisticated patterns, demonstrating the unique construction techniques of the Cham people.
