Finding ways to promote innovative startups in universities

NDO - On the afternoon of April 19, in Ho Chi Minh City, within the framework of the 7th National Startup Festival for students in 2025, the Ministry of Education and Training organized a workshop with the theme "Breakthrough solutions to promote creative startups in higher education institutions".

In her opening speech, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Kim Chi emphasized the key role of higher education in the national education system, as well as the importance of promoting innovative startups in higher education institutions.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Kim Chi said that the Politburo has issued Resolution 57-NQ/TW on the development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, and assigned the Ministry of Education and Training to advise on the development of a separate resolution to create a breakthrough in the education sector.

In that spirit, the Deputy Minister of Education and Training asked delegates attending the workshop to propose breakthrough solutions to help Vietnamese higher education affirm its position in training high-quality human resources, contributing to the country's development in the digital age.

At the workshop, delegates and experts from universities and businesses discussed and proposed ideas for developing a set of criteria to evaluate start-up activities in educational institutions; determining the minimum expenditure structure for start-up support activities, as well as strengthening public-private cooperation and establishing a national fund to support student start-ups.

Comrade Dang Van Huan, Deputy Director of the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training) affirmed the necessity of issuing a set of indicators to evaluate startups and innovation.

At the same time, it is recommended that leaders of higher education institutions have a strong commitment to promoting and building an effective startup ecosystem.

In the coming time, the Ministry of Education and Training will focus on supporting the development of documents, organization, and training of teaching staff... to ensure both the quantity and quality of resources for teaching and promoting start-up and innovation activities in higher education institutions.
