Identify 4 distinctive tourism products.
Homestay tourism is one of the province's key products. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with other departments and localities, actively encourages homestay establishments to maintain product quality, diversify services, and organize many experiential activities to attract tourists (cooking, baking, cycling to explore the beauty of the countryside, enjoying traditional folk music, torchlight processions to watch traditional opera, etc.).

To date, homestays in Vinh Long province have been recognized as meeting ASEAN standards three times, the most in the Southern region. This is proof of the outstanding service quality of this product, which other provinces in the Mekong Delta region have not yet achieved.

In the agricultural tourism product sector, in coordination with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, support is being provided for the introduction of OCOP products at 6 tourist destinations and historical sites. The model of linking tourism with agriculture is being surveyed and evaluated to assess its implementation, identify shortcomings, and focus on solutions to address them, while also balancing funding for the continued introduction of new destinations in the coming years.

In addition, establishing a Vietnamese record for the processing and presentation of dishes and drinks made from Binh Tan sweet potatoes and Binh Minh green tea contributes to promoting and spreading the cultural value of cuisine based on the distinctive agricultural products of Vinh Long.

Tourism related to traditional craft villages is also being promoted. The My Hoa tofu-making village (Binh Minh town) and other localities in the province are promoting the beauty of local cuisine and setting a Vietnamese record. In addition, the Red Ceramic Tile Festival - Green Economy promotes the beauty of Vinh Long pottery with its rustic materials and distinctive red color, alongside other famous pottery villages nationwide.

The Mang Thít Contemporary Heritage Project aims to preserve and develop the "brick kiln kingdom" of Mang Thít into a valuable heritage site of international stature, a destination on the regional and national tourism map, based on the preservation and promotion of local heritage, culture, and ecosystem values.

Along with the record for the longest red ceramic and flower street in Vietnam, Tu Buoi Pottery House holds the Vietnamese record for "The largest traditional three-bay, two-wing house made of Vinh Long red ceramic in Vietnam." Mr. Nguyen Van Buoi said that building the red ceramic house reflects his love for red ceramics in his own unique way.

All of this reflects the dedication and meticulous effort of artisans who want to "breathe life" into and find new directions for their ancestors' craft. The India Global Trade and Technology Council has just certified the Tu Buoi Pottery House Tourist Area as one of the Top 10 Outstanding Global Brands. This is an opportunity to promote Vinh Long red pottery to tourists around the world.

In cultural tourism, the focus is on promoting and showcasing the stories of typical historical sites, historical relics of famous figures, and unique artifacts, while also promoting the value of national intangible cultural heritage such as: the Mausoleum of General Nguyen Van Ton, the Temple of Literature Festival, and the art of traditional opera...

Develop and focus on perfecting tourism products along the Long Ho river route, connecting points such as: Vinh Long market, Minh Huong Assembly Hall, That Phu Temple, Van Thanh Temple, Long Thanh communal house, Long Ho communal house, the memorial area of Chairman of the Council of Ministers Pham Hung, the traditional craft villages of conical hat making and basket weaving, etc.

Maximizing potential and advantages.

For sustainable development, tourism must have its own unique characteristics. Identifying these will help the province's tourism industry focus investment on distinctive products, avoiding a scattered approach. According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the milestone marking the recovery of the tourism industry is 2024, when the province will welcome 1.85 million visitors, surpassing the 1.5 million visitors recorded in 2019 – the period before the pandemic.

According to Mr. Pham Minh Hoang, Acting Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the coming time, the tourism industry will maintain and improve the quality of existing tourism products, and continue to focus on developing and perfecting unique local tourism products.

Focus on developing supplementary services in tour itineraries and travel routes within the province, linking with other provinces to increase tourist spending. Simultaneously, coordinate and advise on accelerating the implementation of the Mang Thít Contemporary Heritage Project and the Mekong Delta Agricultural Museum. Call for investment in tourism development, building large-scale tourist areas and attractions, and developing nighttime entertainment and recreational activities. Strengthen tourism human resource training and improve the skills of workers directly serving tourists…

Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, said that Vinh Long, a land situated between the Tien and Hau rivers, has a history of nearly 300 years of formation and development. The people of Vinh Long, a riverine region, are kind, gentle, and hospitable; the land is blessed by nature with many delicious fruits with unique flavors.

Vinh Long is not only the birthplace of many talented individuals, but also a land rich in cultural works and historical relics. The Van Thanh Temple – the “Southern National Academy”, the Cong Than Temple preserving 85 precious royal decrees, the memorial areas of Chairman of the Council of Ministers Pham Hung, Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet, Professor Tran Dai Nghia… these are “living museums” preserving the soul of the homeland.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh, emphasized: The province has just approved a plan to inventory historical relics, which will include a comprehensive survey and decisions on restoration, preservation, management, and utilization to ensure that cultural heritage values are linked with tourism. Simultaneously, a database will be built on cultural museums, tourism, and the application of science and technology… to showcase Vinh Long as a province rich in cultural identity, dynamic, and modern, contributing to making Vinh Long an increasingly attractive destination for tourists from near and far.
