According to the latest report from the Economic Daily News, tech enthusiasts will have to be patient a little longer to get their hands on the first foldable iPhone. Apple's key component manufacturers have all made subtle moves confirming the delay in the launch date.
The CEO of Largan Precision, Apple's camera supplier, revealed that several major projects scheduled for the third quarter of this year have been postponed to early next year.

At the same time, Xinrixing, the company responsible for developing the folding hinge system, is also awaiting Apple's official delivery schedule. According to experts, the timing coincidence between these two partners almost confirms that the delayed device is indeed the long-rumored foldable iPhone.
Regarding display space, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that the iPhone Fold will offer an optimal experience for both mobile and daily work needs. The device features a 5.3-inch external secondary screen, creating a familiar feel and a comfortable grip similar to a regular iPhone.
When fully unfolded, the main screen inside expands to 7.7 inches with a 4:3 aspect ratio, transforming the device into a true miniature tablet. This design provides ample horizontal workspace, but the height is slightly lower compared to other foldable Android phones currently on the market.

The most striking feature of the iPhone Fold is its incredibly thin profile, measuring only about 4.5mm when unfolded. To realize this record-breaking design language, Apple had to make significant trade-offs in terms of hardware to maximize the space for internal components.
Most notably, the iconic Face ID facial recognition system will be completely removed. Instead, the company will bring back the Touch ID fingerprint sensor and integrate it directly into the power button, similar to the approach on modern iPad Air models.
Furthermore, to maintain its ultra-slim profile, the device is also expected to omit the telephoto camera lens supporting optical zoom. This is a bold move as the American tech giant decides to prioritize aesthetics over advanced photography features and biometric security.

Regarding the market launch roadmap, tech experts expect Apple to unveil the iPhone Fold alongside the iPhone 18 Pro lineup at its annual event in September. However, the official release date may be pushed back to December or even later.
Internal sources emphasize that, initially, this flagship product will only be available in extremely limited quantities. This move not only gives Apple more time to perfect the product and gauge market reaction, but also creates a scarcity effect that stimulates curiosity, a marketing strategy that brought resounding success to the first generation of AirPods wireless headphones.
