According to a post on the Weibo account of leak expert Digital Chat Station , the iPhone 18 Pro Max will have a battery capacity of 5,100-5,200 mAh, the highest among Apple's smartphone lineup.
Combining the performance improvements of the A20 Pro chip, manufactured on TSMC's 2nm process, the iPhone 18 Pro Max could have better battery life. Based on rumors, the device will be thicker than its predecessor to accommodate the larger battery.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max has a 5,088 mAh battery, the largest in the iPhone lineup. Apple claims the battery life can last up to 39 hours.
In early February, CNET published the results of battery life tests comparing the iPhone 17 Pro Max with several Android smartphones, including models using silicon-carbon technology to house larger batteries.
The results show that the iPhone 17 Pro Max has the longest battery life, even surpassing some models like the OnePlus 15 (7,300 mAh) or the Poco F7 Ultra (5,600 mAh). Apple also has the best overall battery life.
With its larger capacity and more efficient chip, MacRumors predicts the iPhone 18 Pro Max could easily offer 40 hours or more of battery life.
Not only the iPhone 18 Pro Max, but Apple's first foldable iPhone model is also rumored to have the best battery life on the market. Based on rumors, the device boasts a 5,500 mAh battery, the largest among current foldable phones.
The iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max are expected to launch in September. Rumored upgrades include a C2 network modem, a redesigned Camera Control button, a 24MP front camera, and a rear main camera with variable aperture.
Previously, ETNews (South Korea) reported that Samsung Display would supply low-temperature polycrystalline silicon oxide (LTPO+) OLED panels for the iPhone 18 Pro and foldable iPhone series.
These panels utilize oxide technology in the controller, which improves energy efficiency while also supporting the placement of infrared cameras beneath the screen.
By using LTPO+ panels on the iPhone 18 Pro and foldable iPhone, Apple was able to move the Face ID sensors under the screen, allowing for a smaller Dynamic Island.
