Industry and Trade Situation in May 2024

Industrial production:

* Industrial production value (at 2010 constant prices) May 2024 is estimated to reach VND 465.5 billion, an increase of 51.3% compared to the previous month and an increase of 56% compared to the same period last year, including:

- Electricity production increased significantly due to heavy rainfall during the month. The estimated production value reached VND 370.1 billion, a 70.4% increase compared to the previous month and a 76.1% increase compared to the same period last year.

- Manufacturing industry: Estimated to reach 78.5 billion VND, an increase of 6.1% compared to the previous month and an increase of 9.8% compared to the same period last year.

- Mining industry: Estimated to reach VND 12.9 billion, an increase of 4.3% compared to the previous month and an increase of 0.1% compared to the same period last year.

- Water supply industry, waste management and wastewater treatment activities: Estimated at 3.9 billion VND, a decrease of 4.3% compared to the previous month and an increase of 1.5% compared to the same period last year.

* Some key products produced are estimated to reach: Electricity production of 417.2 million kWh; construction stone of 50,450 ^m³ ; dried tea of ​​1,260 tons; construction bricks of 7.6 million pieces; tap water production of 495,000 ^m³ ; cement of 20,350 tons .

* Electricity usage targets:

- The number of communes, wards, and towns with access to the national power grid is 106 out of 106, reaching 100%.

- The number of households with access to the national power grid is 103,369 out of 107,092 households, reaching 96.5%.

- The number of villages with access to the national power grid is 940 out of 958 villages, reaching 98%.

Commercial activities : Total retail sales of goods and services in May 2024 are estimated at VND 733.2 billion, a decrease of 3.8% compared to the previous month, but an increase of 11.2% compared to the same period last year, including: Retail sales of goods are estimated at VND 620 billion, a decrease of 3.6% compared to the previous month, but an increase of 11% compared to the same period last year; accommodation and food services are estimated at VND 54.5 billion, a decrease of 7.2% compared to the previous month, but an increase of 14.4% compared to the same period last year; travel services and tourism support activities are estimated at VND 0.47 billion, a decrease of 9.6% compared to the previous month, but an increase of 4.4% compared to the same period last year; other services are estimated at VND 58.3 billion, a decrease of 2.3% compared to the previous month, but an increase of 9.8% compared to the same period last year.

The main service categories in the province are: Food and foodstuffs (223.9 billion VND); clothing (38.3 billion VND); household goods and appliances (77.3 billion VND); cultural and educational items (4.7 billion VND); and petroleum products (105 billion VND).

Import and export activities: The total value of goods imported and exported in the province in May 2024 was estimated at 1.63 million USD, an increase of 26.9% compared to the previous month, but a decrease of 43.5% compared to the same period last year, specifically:

- Goods export turnover reached US$1.13 million, an increase of 9.1% compared to the previous month, but a decrease of 24.1% compared to the same period last year. Of this, the value of local goods exports reached US$0.87 million, an increase of 7.3% compared to the previous month and an increase of 0.98% compared to the same period last year. Some of the main export items of the locality include: 300 tons of tea, valued at US$0.64 million, an increase of 7.14% compared to the previous month and an increase of 0.6% compared to the same period last year; and other goods valued at US$0.23 million.

- Import turnover reached 0.5 million USD, an increase of 100.5% compared to the previous month, but a decrease of 64.1% compared to the same period last year.
