TKV competes to break through in the second quarter

In the context of unfavorable weather and objective market difficulties, TKV still recorded positive production and business results in the first quarter of 2025. The total revenue of the Group is estimated at VND 44,340 billion, equal to 25.7% of the annual plan and an increase of 13% over the same period in 2024. Of which, revenue from coal production reached VND 27,270 billion, minerals VND 7,800 billion, electricity VND 3,660 billion. In particular, coal consumption reached 12.71 million tons (equal to 25.4% of the annual plan), of which coal for electricity reached 10.8 million tons, ensuring stable supply for thermal power plants, contributing to maintaining national energy security in the dry season. Raw coal production reached 10.5 million tons, equal to 27.6% of the annual plan, higher than the same period thanks to timely implementation of solutions to promote exploitation at mines.

Contributing to the overall results is the enthusiastic emulation spirit that has spread strongly in TKV units since the beginning of the year. Responding to the call of the Group's leaders, the units launched many practical emulation movements, associated with the slogan of action "Safety - Discipline - Creativity - Efficiency". The slogan has become a "compass" throughout all production activities, creating motivation for the units to excellently complete the assigned tasks.

Many units in the Group quickly transformed the competitive spirit into concrete actions and clear results. At Ha Tu Coal Joint Stock Company, taking advantage of favorable weather conditions, the unit boosted production from the beginning of April, creating momentum to complete the second quarter plan. In the first quarter, the unit achieved many impressive targets, such as: Excavation of soil and rock reached 13.863 million m³ (reaching 31.5% of the yearly plan), treatment of 2.1 million m³ of moong mud (reaching 100% of the yearly plan), exploitation of raw coal reached 620,000 tons (reaching 24.8% of the yearly plan), consumption reached 665,600 tons (reaching 25.6% of the yearly plan). In particular, the moong mud treatment plan was completed from March 13, creating conditions for effective exploitation of the moong bottom area.

On April 7 (the Hung King's death anniversary, March 10 of the lunar calendar), the Company maintained a stable production pace, with remarkable results. Currently, the unit is mobilizing maximum equipment and human resources, focusing on the goal of completing at least 54% of raw coal output in the first 6 months of the year. At the same time, safety work, environmental protection, storm response and ensuring progress of items before April 20 are also being actively implemented.

Not only Ha Tu, many units in TKV also recorded the exciting emulation atmosphere. Quang Hanh Coal Company is also urgently implementing tunnel excavation and equipment installation to ensure the progress of the first coal mine at the -175/-300 level as planned on April 1, 2025. Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company and Uong Bi Coal Company have boldly applied modern technology such as EBH-45 roadheader and soft support frame - solutions that contribute to improving productivity and reducing manual labor, gradually modernizing coal mining.

The highlight of production management in the first quarter is the proactive, decisive and flexible direction of the Group's leaders. Right from the beginning of the year, TKV issued plans to manage output according to Resolution 25/NQ-CP, requiring units to increase the exploitation of raw coal, speed up the progress of projects such as putting machines into longwalls, deploying mining in open-pit mines...

The organization of construction of items serving the rainy season such as drainage furnace No. 2, lowering the moong, ensuring continuous and safe exploitation conditions are also closely directed. Environmental protection, early spring tree planting, waste and wastewater treatment are maintained regularly with positive figures: 23.5 million m³ of wastewater treated, 34 hectares of new trees planted, ensuring labor safety during the holidays.

Promoting the competitive spirit at the beginning of the year, TKV strongly directed units to implement production plans for the rainy season, increase tunnel digging, mix clean coal from soil and rock with coal, and invest in modern equipment to improve productivity, quality and economic efficiency. At the same time, actively coordinate with localities, ministries and branches to resolve licensing procedures, remove obstacles in investment - one of the key steps to ensure the progress of key projects.

Entering the second quarter of 2025, TKV strives to reach 15.8 million tons of coal consumption (equal to 28.7% of the annual plan), bringing the total consumption in the first 6 months of the year to about 28.5 million tons (57% of the plan). Clean coal production in the second quarter is expected to reach 10.7 million tons, equal to 28.5% of the annual plan.

In the context of the difficult coal export market, falling mineral prices and domestic consumption not yet clearly recovering, TKV has implemented a series of flexible management solutions, focusing on a number of key points. Regarding coal production and consumption, the Group directed units to complete and effectively implement the rainy season mining plan; increase the processing of clean coal from non-standard products; speed up the progress of mine licensing and investment in equipment to maintain production; ensure adequate coal supply for electricity production, especially during the peak months of the dry season.

With a spirit of enthusiastic competition, high determination and close support from the Group's leaders, the Coal industry units are making efforts every day, striving to complete and exceed the production and business targets for 2025.
