The golf course building on Cu Hill in Da Lat was constructed without a permit, covering 17,000 square meters.

In Lam Dong province, a golf club building on Cu Hill near Xuan Huong Lake has been found to have been constructed illegally and without permits, covering tens of thousands of square meters, and construction has been halted.

On January 10th, Mr. Tran Quoc Hung, Deputy General Director of Hoang Gia DL Joint Stock Company (the project's investor), confirmed that construction on the building project had stopped. Since yesterday, workers have been dismantling temporary shelters and moving equipment and machinery out of the construction site.

The halt in construction occurred after the Da Lat City authorities inspected the project in April 2023 and discovered several violations.

Accordingly, the complex of buildings at the golf course was only granted a permit to construct a basement, but the investor built four additional above-ground floors without permission. The total floor area of this building is over 17,000 m2. Behind this building, there is also a cluster of dome-shaped structures that were also granted a permit, but the investor built more than 3,000 m2 exceeding the regulations.

Authorities had ordered the project to halt construction and complete the necessary paperwork, but construction on both buildings continued.

The Deputy General Director of Hoang Gia DL Joint Stock Company stated that construction has been halted to allow the company to complete the necessary permits in accordance with regulations. The project will resume once the procedures are finalized.

Cu Hill, spanning over 62 hectares, is located next to the scenic Xuan Huong Lake. In 1920, the French designed it as a golf course, but for a time it was used for other purposes. In 1994, the site was restored and became a golf course. Situated close to Xuan Huong Lake, the hill is one of the few locations in the heart of Da Lat with abundant green spaces of pine forests, relatively untouched by urbanization and concrete structures.

Hoang Gia DL Joint Stock Company owns many tourism projects in Da Lat. Last year, the company proposed building a complex entertainment and resort area, two seven-story underground parking lots at the 62.4-hectare Cu Hill golf course in the heart of Da Lat city to serve the night economy ; and expanding Tran Quoc Toan road...

Upon completion, the aforementioned projects would be handed over by the businesses to Da Lat City for management and community service. However, the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee rejected this idea, citing that the items were not included in the planning.
