Recently, social media has been abuzz with a public feud between young people. Some criticize the male partner for his promiscuous lifestyle, while others blame the female partners for being naive. Many also suggest they are colluding to gain popularity and profit. However, it seems everyone agrees they are showing a lack of self-respect and failing to maintain their image. In any relationship, if you don't receive respect from your partner, you should decisively leave. Don't dwell too much on who is right and who is wrong. But instead, many have chosen to "clarify" everything on social media. Even "secrets" are revealed, leading to heated arguments that last for a long time. From being dynamic and talented young people, their image in the eyes of the public has become tarnished after exposing themselves on social media.
Today's youth are very confident in expressing their individuality, ready to retaliate, even aggressively, if things don't go their way or if they are hurt by others. With the added support of social media, problems sometimes spiral out of control. At that moment, you might feel a sense of satisfaction, a feeling of victory, when your opponent is criticized and condemned. But what happens afterward? Calming down, you'll realize that a few words of support and encouragement on social media can't solve the problem. The negative consequences are significant. Grandparents, parents, and the older generation, who still live more traditionally with the mindset of "show the good, hide the bad," will likely be disappointed and saddened by their children's actions. Will friends, colleagues, and business partners still interact and chat freely as before, or will they always be wary, fearing that a mistake might be exposed online? In reality, young people still have a long way to go and a bright future ahead, so building and maintaining a positive image is essential. Don't use the pretext of demanding justice and fairness, and don't lose your composure when facing problems.
It's okay to make mistakes in youth, but some mistakes take a long time to correct. You absolutely must not waste time, effort, or tarnish your own image for people who don't deserve it; that's what self-respect is all about.
