UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will make his first official visit to the United States tomorrow, September 23, amid rising tensions in the Middle East.

The visit underscores economic and technological cooperation, according to presidential advisor Anwar Gargash.
Sheikh Mohamed's presence in Washington DC also marked the first visit by a sitting UAE president to the United States.
The UAE leader is expected to meet with his host counterpart Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, who is running for the White House.
The discussions will not overlook “what is happening in the Gaza Strip” as well as other areas, and will focus on strengthening economic and technological ties.
According to the President's advisor, the relationship with the US is the UAE's "most important strategic relationship," even though "sometimes people like to talk about some tensions" in bilateral relations.
The UAE, expected to be a major contributor to the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip after the conflict, also has close ties with Russia and has refused to condemn the military campaign in Ukraine since 2022.
President Sheikh Mohamed's visit to the United States comes amid escalating fighting between Israel and Lebanon's Hezbollah group, raising concerns about the risk of a wider conflict in the Middle East.
The UAE, one of the few Arab countries to recognize Israel, is increasingly influential in the Middle East thanks to its oil wealth, favorable business environment, and political stability.
