Tottenham paid the price for their lack of patience.

Having lost 2-5 to Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16, Tottenham are teetering on the brink of relegation in the Premier League. And things are predicted to get even worse for Tottenham in the final stages of this season.

The fact that coach Igor Tudor (from Croatia) fielded young goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky as the starting goalkeeper, only to replace him after 17 minutes, exposed Tottenham's "inexplicably hurried and impatient lifestyle."

Coaching Grinder

In recent years, although not a top contender for the championship, Tottenham has always posed a challenge to the big clubs on their way to the title. However, Tottenham is currently in freefall, despite possessing some top-class stars. So what is the reason for this?

It was a hasty decision by the club's management. They sacked manager Jose Mourinho before the League Cup final – something their own fans later admitted was foolish. Since sacking Mourinho, Tottenham have had eight managers in five years.

There are those who fail, but there are also successful coaches like Ange Postecoglou (Europa League winner). However, their common fate is to be ruthlessly sacked. The constant turnover on the coaching bench has led to endless instability at Tottenham. No strategist is guaranteed a long-term future at this "coach-churning machine." The Tottenham board doesn't hesitate too much; if they feel the team is in trouble, they simply... sack them.

This severely damaged the reputation of the managers. Under manager Thomas Frank, numerous clips circulated online showing Tottenham players disobeying the head coach's orders. Tottenham legends called it "shameful" and unacceptable.

The crisis continues.

When those video clips went viral online, it became clear that the day Frank would be sacked was near. And that prediction came true in mid-February when Frank was dismissed and Tottenham appointed Igor Tudor as his replacement.

Teams change managers and their fortunes change, but Tottenham's luck seems to decline with each manager change. Igor Tudor not only failed to improve the "Spurs" but also exacerbated their problems. It's worth remembering that while Frank didn't help Tottenham perform well domestically, the London club impressed and reached the Champions League round of 16.

The hasty dismissals and subsequent appointments of new managers have left Tottenham directionless, unstable, and consistently making the wrong choices. No one sees a clear, long-term development strategy in this team. It's easy to understand why such a team would lose its way.

Even more noteworthy is that immediately after the defeat to Atletico Madrid, the press was buzzing with reports that Tottenham were considering sacking head coach Igor Tudor in preparation for appointing Robbie Keane as his replacement. This information shows that the haste at Tottenham shows no sign of stopping, and this only adds to the team's instability.

There are decisions that are lauded as necessary decisiveness and urgency. But constant decisiveness and urgency is clearly hasty and impatient. No club in the world has become strong in this way.
