According to the Southern Vietnam Meteorological and Hydrological Station, moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in Ho Chi Minh City during the last days of June and the beginning of July. Total rainfall is expected to be between 150 and 300 mm, with some areas receiving over 300 mm.

Currently, the moderate-intensity southwest monsoon is expected to intensify in the coming days. This is due to the formation of a tropical convergence zone around June 30th, with its axis passing through the central part of the South China Sea. Therefore, Ho Chi Minh City and the Southern region will experience widespread heavy rainfall in the coming days. Caution is needed regarding the possibility of heavy rain causing flooding in low-lying areas, urban and industrial zones, and areas along rivers and canals. Thunderstorms may bring tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.
Nationwide, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting (NCHMF), from now until June 30th, the mountainous and midland areas of Northern Vietnam will experience moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing very heavy rain; the plains will have rain, moderate rain, and scattered thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing heavy rain. The rain will be concentrated in the late afternoon, evening, night, and morning.
In addition, the Southern region will experience showers and scattered thunderstorms from the evening of June 29th, with some areas experiencing heavy rain. From June 30th, the rain is likely to increase, with some areas experiencing heavy rain. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.
From June 30th to July 1st, the northern region and Thanh Hoa province will experience showers and scattered thunderstorms, with localized heavy rain in some areas, and widespread heavy rain in mountainous and hilly regions.
From July 2nd, heavy rainfall is expected to gradually decrease in the mountainous and midland areas of Northern Vietnam. However, heavy rain will extend to the Northern Delta region and Thanh Hoa province.
From approximately July 1st to 3rd, scattered thunderstorms, with localized heavy rain, will begin to appear in the area from Nghe An to Da Nang and the eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak; sunny days, with some areas experiencing hot weather.
