DTO - On April 25th, the People's Council of Sa Dec City, 12th term, 2021-2026, held its 11th extraordinary session to approve the plan for rearranging administrative units at the provincial and commune levels. Comrade Nguyen Phuoc Thien - Provincial Party Committee member, Secretary of the Sa Dec City Party Committee, attended the session.
The People's Council of Sa Dec City approved draft resolutions at its 11th extraordinary session.
At the city's People's Council meeting, the City People's Committee approved the proposals regarding the consideration and approval of the plan to reorganize Tien Giang and Dong Thap provinces. Specifically, Dong Thap province will be established by merging Tien Giang and Dong Thap provinces, with the administrative and political center located in My Tho City. After the reorganization, Dong Thap province will have a natural area of 5,933.64 km2 and a population of 4,203,948 people.
Through a proposal for consideration and issuance of a Resolution approving the policy of rearranging commune-level administrative units, specifically, the establishment of Sa Dec ward by merging the administrative units of Ward 1, Ward 2, Ward 3, Ward 4, An Hoa ward, Tan Quy Dong ward, Tan Khanh Dong commune and Tan Quy Tay commune of Sa Dec City. The new administrative unit has a natural area of 46.92 km2; a population of 104,509 people, with the political and administrative center located in Ward 1.
Tan Duong commune was established by merging Tan Phu Dong commune of Sa Dec city with Tan Duong and Hoa Thanh communes of Lai Vung district. The new commune has a natural area of 46.67 km2; a population of 46,069 people, and its political and administrative center is located in Hoa Thanh commune.
Delegates of the Sa Dec City People's Council vote to approve the resolution of the session.
After discussion, the city's People's Council delegates unanimously agreed with the proposals and voted to approve the draft resolutions supporting the policy of rearranging administrative units at the provincial and commune levels with 100% of the delegates present voting in favor.
