HCMC: Opening of the World Boxing Conference in Asia

(NLDO) - On the morning of August 9, the World Boxing Conference in Asia took place successfully with nearly 200 delegates in Ho Chi Minh City. The event will last for three days, until August 11.

On the morning of August 9, the World Boxing Convention in Asia (WBA Asia Convention 2024) took place successfully and welcomed nearly 200 delegates, including representatives from the World Boxing Association (WBA), the Asian Boxing Association (WBA), the Professional Boxing Commission (PBC), promoters, investors, professional tournament organizers, and famous boxers.

At this conference, the World Boxing Association had the presence of Mr. Gilberto Jesus Mendoza - President of the Association, Mr. Won Kim - General Secretary of WBA Asia, Mr. Hui-Hua Zhang - Vice President of WBA Asia.

Coming to Vietnam to attend the conference himself, Mr. Gilberto Jesus Mendoza praised the organization of this conference, and also affirmed that this event will bring many development opportunities for professional boxing in Vietnam.

In addition, many delegates are heads of large and prestigious boxing organizations not only from more than 20 countries and territories in the Asia region but also from all over the world.

With the efforts to organize a regional professional conference like this, it once again affirms that the Vietnam Boxing Commission (VBC) is doing its role well to develop professional Boxing in Vietnam.

Mr. Luu Tu Bao - President of the Vietnam Boxing Federation (VBF) - said: "With the mission of standardizing new forms of organization and management, the establishment of VBC marks a historic moment in the right direction for professional boxing in Vietnam. We are committed to ensuring comprehensive development and providing a clear roadmap for our country's boxers to reach the world arena."

The conference will take place over 3 days (August 9 to 11) with many other activities for participants such as the Referee Training and Certification Course, professional appraisal, honoring gala and ending the event with a professional Boxing tournament - LEAD: WBA Asia Vietnam Tournament this Sunday evening at Saigon Sports Club (District 7, Ho Chi Minh City).
