In Thang An commune, in order to promote the role of women in developing household economies and contribute to the effective implementation of sustainable poverty reduction, the Women's Union of the commune organized the provision of livelihoods to poor and near-poor households in the area.

According to Ms. Ho Thi My Le, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Thang An commune, the union recently distributed 70 piglets to 35 households (2 piglets per household), with a total cost of 171.5 million VND. This is a suitable source of livelihood for the local production conditions, creating opportunities for households to develop livestock farming and increase their income.

This activity not only demonstrates the concern and support of all levels, sectors, and organizations for members, women, and disadvantaged households, but also contributes to fostering a spirit of self-reliance, self-improvement, and proactively striving to escape poverty.

Through providing livelihoods, the Women's Union of the commune hopes that households will effectively utilize the resources provided, actively engage in labor and livestock farming according to proper techniques, gradually improve their lives, and build prosperous, progressive, and happy families.

In addition, Thang Dien commune has also effectively implemented a livelihood support model by providing breeding crossbred cows to local people.

Mr. Truong Cong Son, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thang Dien commune, said that the commune, in coordination with the Women's Union of the commune, organized the handover of 29 hybrid breeding cows to 16 households, including 4 poor households, 11 near-poor households, and 1 household with production experience. All the cows received support have been fully vaccinated, ensuring safe breeding conditions.

To ensure long-term effectiveness, the People's Committee of Thang Dien commune requires households receiving cattle to strictly follow the care and feeding procedures according to technical guidelines, build sturdy and clean barns, and not give away or sell cattle without permission within the specified period. In case of disease outbreaks, households must promptly report to the authorities for assistance and risk reduction.

Previously, within the framework of the Community Production Development Support Project under Project 2 of the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction, the People's Committee of Thang Dien commune conducted a survey and assessment of the situation, and approved a project suitable to the conditions of the people.

The core objective of the project is to help participating households increase their income by 25-30% from the second year onwards, while creating jobs for 100% of participating households, contributing to improved living standards and sustainable poverty reduction in the area.

In addition to focusing on providing livestock, the Women's Union of Dai Loc commune also implements many activities to support and empower women in difficult circumstances to take control of their lives.

Ms. Tu Thi Ly, President of the Women's Union of Dai Loc commune, said that with a spirit of sharing, before the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, the union organized the program "Giving means of livelihood" to disadvantaged members in the area.

During this period, the association directly donated saplings and chicken breeds to member households. In particular, two families, Ms. Truong Thi Hong Nhung and Ms. Dang Thi Hien (residing in Phu My village), received support in the form of saplings and chicken breeds totaling 6 million VND.

Although these livelihood gifts may not be substantial in material terms, they are practically meaningful, likened to a "fishing rod," helping households to increase production, create a stable source of income, and gradually improve their family's economic situation.

Receiving support in the form of chicken breeds just before Tet (Lunar New Year), Ms. Dang Thi Hien could not hide her emotion at the timely care and sharing from the organization. According to Ms. Hien, this is not only material support but also a great source of spiritual encouragement, helping her to be more confident in overcoming difficulties, striving in labor and production, and aiming for a more stable and prosperous life in the new year.

Ms. Ly expressed that providing support to the right people, meeting their specific needs, coupled with technical guidance and accountability from beneficiaries, has helped the models achieve sustainable effectiveness. This helps members escape poverty in the short term and creates a foundation for them to legitimately become wealthy, contributing to the effective achievement of sustainable poverty reduction goals, ensuring social security, and promoting socio-economic development in the locality.
