Earlier, on the morning of May 15, 5, I saw two tourists, Mrs. Helen Glover and Mr. Paul Glover (Australian nationality) walking on Le Loi Street, Ho Chi Minh City. Hue (in front of Century Hotel), cyclo driver Duong Van C (residing on Hai Trieu Street, Hue City) came to exchange. After that, the two tourists agreed to let driver C and another driver (unknown name) take him to the Citadel for 2023 VND/car.
After that, two cyclo drivers carry passengers across Truong Tien Bridge, through Dong Ba market, enter Dong Ba gate, and arrive at Tinh Tam Kim Co for visitors. After that, the cyclo driver offered to take guests to Thien Mu pagoda and the two tourists agreed. After visiting Thien Mu Pagoda, the two drivers will take them back to the Citadel and collect 350.000/car.
Tourists give two cyclo drivers a total of 700.000 VND. Due to dissatisfaction with the price increase compared to the previous agreement, the two tourists reported it to the Department of Tourism.
After receiving the information, the Department of Tourism coordinated with the City Police. Hue verified the incident and invited cyclo driver Duong Van C. to work. At the authorities, the cyclo driver admitted to raising the price compared to his regulations and returned the difference of 400.000 VND.
Having received the money back, the two tourists were moved to thank for the quick involvement of the authorities in protecting tourists when they arrived at an unfamiliar destination; help visitors feel more secure when traveling to Hue.
