On March 19th, the Department of Internal Affairs of Quang Nam province organized the exhibition "Historical Imprints of Quang Nam through Archival Documents" at the Quang Nam Historical Archives Center. This event commemorated the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Quang Nam province (March 24, 1975 - March 24, 2025) and showcased over 150 valuable documents and images, including the Nguyen Dynasty woodblocks – a World Documentary Heritage.
The exhibition is divided into three parts: historical milestones in the formation of Quang Nam province; the history of the revolutionary struggle of the people of the province; and the period of construction and development from 1975 to the present. The event helps viewers better understand the history of the formation and development of Quang Nam, fostering national pride and a sense of responsibility in building their homeland.

"The exhibition will help viewers gain a clear understanding of the history of Quang Nam's formation and development through different periods. Documents and images were collected from national archives, libraries, museums, and press agencies both within and outside the province," said a leader of the Quang Nam Department of Internal Affairs.
Quang Nam is a land with a long history, rich in patriotic traditions and deeply rooted in Vietnamese culture. Over more than 550 years of formation and development, it has not only witnessed important historical periods but also fostered the patriotic spirit and indomitable will of countless generations.

The formation of Quang Nam province during the feudal era marked significant progress in the history of this region's development. From its initial names and administrative units such as prefectures, districts, and towns, to officially becoming a province in 1832 under Emperor Minh Mang, Quang Nam province has continuously changed, developed, and always held a strategically important position.
During the French colonial period and the Republic of Vietnam era, Quang Nam province underwent many changes in administrative boundaries, primarily for the purposes of resource exploitation and population control. After 1975, Quang Nam also experienced several divisions and mergers, but it has consistently maintained its important position in the overall development of the country.
Not only famous for its long-standing cultural traditions, Quang Nam is also a steadfast land in the struggle and defense of the Fatherland. National history records that from the early days of the French colonial invasion until the complete reunification of the country in 1975, Quang Nam was always a leading province in the struggle against foreign invaders, including movements such as the Can Vuong Movement, the Duy Tan Movement, and the anti-tax movement. Entering the resistance war against the US, with the victory at Nui Thanh and the innovative "American Annihilation Belt," Quang Nam was honored with the title "Quang Nam, brave and resilient, leading the fight against the US."

After the war ended, the brave and resilient sons and daughters of Quang Nam, such as Comrade Vo Chi Cong, Hero Nguyen Van Troi, the anti-American fighter Ho Thi Thu, Heroic Vietnamese Mother Nguyen Thi Thu, and countless other outstanding individuals, became shining examples for the younger generation to follow.
After liberation in 1975, along with the people of the whole country, the people of Quang Nam province entered a new phase, overcoming the consequences of war, restoring and developing socio -economic life. With a spirit of unity, innovation, and creativity, Quang Nam province has gradually risen, affirming its position as one of the dynamically developing localities in the Central region.
