Sixty artworks (from the collection of Dr. Nguyen Si Dung, spanning the period from 1963 to 2017) will be displayed at the "But Luc" exhibition, taking place from April 20th to May 20th at the Vincom Contemporary Art Center (Vincom Royal City, B1 - R3, 72 Nguyen Trai Street, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi ).
Curated by artist Le Thiet Cuong, the exhibition is an opportunity for the public to revisit the valuable artistic achievements of artist Pham Luc, with works on various themes and in diverse materials. Artist Pham Luc (75 years old) is considered one of the most talented artists with an impressive artistic personality. He studied at the Vietnam College of Fine Arts (1960-1965), graduated from the Vietnam University of Fine Arts in 1977, and has had over 30 exhibitions both domestically and internationally.
Pham Luc served in the military for 35 years, fighting at Ham Rong ( Thanh Hoa ), then traveling to battlefields throughout the Central Highlands, Southern Laos, and the Southwest of Vietnam. He is the only person to have a club of collectors of his paintings, with over 100 members and more than 6,000 works. Among them, Dr. Nguyen Si Dung (former Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office) is an active member, having organized many exhibitions of Pham Luc's paintings, connecting art lovers.
Pham Luc's works highlight the yearning for peace during wartime and also reflect the lingering traumas of war in peacetime.
