The program was implemented in 15 phases, organized at 7 universities and colleges and 7 high schools and middle schools in the city, with each phase lasting from 4 to 6 days.
Each exhibition not only displays historical and legal documents, maps, and images proving Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa archipelago, but also reflects the current process of defending the nation's maritime sovereignty. In particular, documents and images showcasing the participation of Da Nang youth in protecting the homeland's maritime territories will also be presented. Alongside the exhibition, the program also includes thematic activities, exchanges, documentary film screenings, and explanations, aiming to help participants better understand the sacred values of Vietnam's maritime territories.
A representative from the Hoang Sa Exhibition House stated: "We expect each exhibition to be more than just a few-day event; it will leave a lasting impact on the awareness and actions of today's young generation."
On April 8th, the 5th phase of the series of activities took place at Nguyen Trai High School. Attending the program were representatives from the Da Nang City Youth Union, the Hoang Sa Exhibition House, the Command of the 3rd Naval Region, the Lien Chieu District Youth Union, along with the school's Board of Directors, teachers, and students.
Nguyen Duc Phuoc, Party Secretary and school principal, said: "This is a valuable opportunity for teachers and students to directly access valuable documents, gain a deeper understanding of the sacred value of maritime sovereignty, and thereby foster patriotism and civic responsibility in each student."
This activity not only raises awareness of maritime sovereignty but also serves as a strong bridge between the younger generation and naval soldiers. Students not only gain a deeper understanding of history and law but also feel the sacrifices and love that the soldiers have for the sacred islands of the Fatherland. These emotions will nurture national pride and motivate them to continue the tradition of protecting the country.
Lieutenant Le Van Duc Thang, Assistant for Mass Mobilization, Political Department, Brigade 680, emotionally said: “Having lived on a survival island in the Truong Sa archipelago, I deeply understand the hardships and sacrifices of those who cling to the sea and protect it. We are very excited to participate in this meaningful activity. This is an opportunity to educate young people about love for the sea and islands. They will deeply feel the immense love of the naval soldiers.”
Ms. Ho Thi Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the school's Youth Union, shared: "Many students were encountering materials about Hoang Sa for the first time, and they were truly moved. Seeing the excitement and delight of the classes when checking in at the exhibition and sharing it widely on social media, we are even more confident and proud that the younger generation will worthily continue the tradition of preserving the islands and seas that our ancestors painstakingly protected."
Dau Ha Nhi, a student in class 10/9, expressed her feelings: “We feel incredibly proud and grateful. From today, I will no longer see the islands and seas as something distant, but as a part of my heart.”
The "Youth with the Homeland's Seas and Islands" program in 2025 is not just a series of activities about the origins of the nation, but a journey to awaken love for the homeland, evoke national pride, and cultivate civic consciousness in the younger generation.
From stories about the soldiers of the Paracel Islands and time-worn documents, the young people of Da Nang not only listened but also absorbed deeply. Images of soldiers at sea, along with documents about the sacred sovereignty of the nation's islands, helped them better understand the value and importance of protecting maritime sovereignty. They felt that the islands are not only sacred land but also an integral part of the nation, needing to be preserved and protected. And from that emotion, a sense of responsibility was sown. In the future, wherever they may be, a gentle breeze from the sea will keep their love for the homeland alive.
