Xuan Pha Play

Legend has it that in Xuan Pha village, in the 9th century, when the country was invaded by foreign enemies, King Dinh Tien Hoang sent an envoy to find talented people to help him defeat the enemy.

The messenger went along the Luong River (Chu River), encountered a storm, he had to stay in Nghe Xuan Pha.

When it was dark, he prayed to the village god of Xuan Pha, the Great Dragon King.

That night, the king received a dream from the village god about how to fight the enemy.

The king followed that plan and indeed won. To show his gratitude, the king held a festival at the temple and conferred on the village god Xuan Pha the title of Supreme God of Fortune and Spirituality, also known as Dai Hai Long Vuong or Hoang Lang Tuong Quan.
