Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Vu Manh Ha, Director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum, emphasized: Exactly 50 years ago, at 11:30 AM on April 30, 1975, after 55 days and nights of "swift, bold, unexpected, and certain victory," the Spring Offensive and Uprising of 1975, culminating in the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign, liberated the South, unified the country, and gloriously ended 30 years of the Vietnamese people's heroic resistance against foreign invaders. This is the greatest achievement of the cause of national liberation and defense of the Fatherland, led by the Communist Party of Vietnam , headed by President Ho Chi Minh. It is one of the most glorious and brilliant chapters in the nation's thousands of years of history, opening an era of independence, freedom, unity, and the building and protection of the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam for the goal of "a prosperous people, a strong nation, democracy, fairness, and civilization."

According to Vu Manh Ha, Director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum, with over 300 representative photos, documents, and artifacts, including original documents and artifacts being presented to the public for the first time, the thematic exhibition "The Nation's Complete Joy" begins with the context after the 1954 Geneva Agreement, when Vietnam was divided into two regions, with the 17th parallel as the boundary. The North was completely liberated and advanced towards socialism.

In the South, the American imperialists replaced the French colonialists in invading, turning the South into a new type of colony and a military base for the US, aiming to establish a defensive line to prevent and repel socialism in Southeast Asia. But with the truth that "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom," "Vietnam is one country, the Vietnamese people are one nation," and "Southern Vietnam is the blood of Vietnamese blood, the flesh of Vietnamese flesh," the entire Vietnamese nation, united as one, was determined to fight and defeat the American imperialists to achieve the goal of national reunification and the reunion of people from North and South Vietnam. The just struggle of the Vietnamese people received immense support and assistance from international friends and peace-loving, progressive forces worldwide. In January 1973, we forced the Americans to sign the Paris Agreement on ending the war and restoring peace in Vietnam, withdrawing all American and allied troops from Southern Vietnam.

Following successive victories on the Southern battlefield in 1974 and early 1975, the Communist Party of Vietnam recognized that the time had come to liberate the South and decided to launch a strategic offensive to completely liberate the South and unify the country. Based on preparations in terms of strength and resources, the Spring 1975 General Offensive and Uprising began on March 4, 1975, with the campaigns of the Central Highlands, Hue-Da Nang, and the Ho Chi Minh Campaign. Among these, the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign was the final strategic decisive battle.

At 11:30 AM on April 30, 1975, our troops captured the Independence Palace, the last stronghold of the Saigon puppet regime. The Ho Chi Minh Campaign was a complete victory, and the liberation flag fluttered proudly atop the Independence Palace. The entire Vietnamese nation rejoiced in the victory, North and South were reunited, and the country was united.

The great victory of Spring 1975 ushered in a new era for the nation – an era of independence, unity, and the building of a prosperous, strong, and civilized socialist Vietnam. By upholding the spirit of patriotism, self-reliance, and determination, along with courage, creativity, and the ability to overcome all difficulties and challenges, seizing opportunities and advantages; after 50 years of liberating the South and unifying the country, and nearly 40 years of implementing the Doi Moi (Renovation) process, industrialization, modernization, and international integration, the entire Party, people, and army have achieved many important accomplishments, just as President Ho Chi Minh taught: "On the day of victory, our people will rebuild our country in a more dignified and beautiful way!"
