Typhoon Talim, the No. 4 typhoon in China this year, is expected to make landfall in the southeast of the country on the night of July 17.7. The Fujian provincial government activated a state of emergency preparedness for rainstorms on the morning of the same day, according to Xinhua.
A total of 58 towns in 20 county-level areas in Fujian experienced more than 50 mm of rain from the morning of July 16-17.7. By July 18.7, showers and thunder will occur in most districts and cities of the province.
