According to Washington and London, the attacked targets included millions of people, including parliamentarians, academics, journalists as well as defense companies and contractors.
British and US authorities on March 25.3 also nicknamed the above hacker group "Advanced Persistent Threat 31" (or APT31) and accused this group of having links to China's Ministry of National Security, Reuters reported.
Officials on both sides of the Atlantic also announced a list of targets, notably White House staff, US senators, British parliamentarians and government officials around the world.

The US side said that even the spouses of high-ranking officials and parliamentarians of this country are also targets. Accordingly, the US Treasury Department imposed sanctions on Wuhan Xiaoruizhi Science and Technology Company, as well as on two Chinese citizens.
Chinese diplomats in the UK and US rejected the above information, saying they were "unfounded" accusations. The Chinese Embassy in London called this allegation "completely fabricated and maliciously slandered."
