At the event, the public will have the opportunity to meet folk artisans who have been associated with the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology for nearly three decades, and to recreate the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere through familiar toys such as: revolving lanterns, star lanterns, paper doctor figures, clay figurines, papier-mâché masks, clay figurines, etc.
Children not only get to admire the toys but also have the opportunity to learn how to make them under the direct guidance of folk artisans.
In addition, the program offers many experiential activities: folk games such as jump rope, stilt walking, O An Quan (a traditional Vietnamese board game), tug-of-war..., STEM activities exploring science through lantern parades and traditional lanterns, and activities in the Children's Discovery Room such as storytelling about the legend of the Mid-Autumn Festival, trying hand puppetry, painting Mid-Autumn-themed pictures, exploring Mid-Autumn toys… This is an opportunity for children to play and learn at the same time, connecting the joy of discovery with folk cultural values and scientific knowledge.

A new highlight that will be revealed during the dress rehearsal and official launch on October 4th is the art installation space "Autumn Colors".
Here, the public has the opportunity to admire traditional toys made by elderly artisans; as well as restored and creative toys made by some young people passionate about handicrafts.
In this space, visitors have the opportunity to explore the stories behind the preservation, creation, and development of folk toys by the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology and artisans. This activity also promises to provide an exciting experience, connecting heritage and digital technology through an interaction with an AI doctor.
The Vietnam Museum of Ethnology's "Mid-Autumn Festival 2025: Fun with Children" program will take place on October 4-5, and the "Autumn Colors" art installation space will open on October 4.
