On behalf of the Command of Naval Region 5, Colonel Luc Duc Tien, Deputy Commander of the Region, reported to Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Binh on the outstanding results in implementing the political tasks of Naval Region 5.
In 2023, the Party Committee and Naval Region 5 Command proactively grasped, assessed and correctly forecast the situation; promptly advise and propose to the Navy and the Ministry of National Defense to properly resolve problems arising in assigned maritime areas.
The region has well performed the tasks of training, combat readiness, management, and firmly protecting the sovereignty of assigned sea areas; Coordinate patrols and perform well the task of combating illegal seafood exploitation; Participate in joint patrols with the Royal Cambodian Navy and the Royal Thai Navy; perform well the search and rescue mission, the program "Vietnam Navy acts as a fulcrum for fishermen to go out to sea and cling to the sea", the activity "The Navy sponsors the children of fishermen"; ensure adequate logistics, finance, and techniques for tasks.
Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Binh requested: In 2024, the Party Committee, Naval Region 5 Command and IUU Joint Command thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the above directives and orders; Strictly maintain forces and means of combat readiness at all levels, especially at sea; Well organize spring and New Year activities for soldiers, ensuring absolute safety and high combat readiness.
