Wanted: Suspect who defrauded farmers of their rice deposit money.

On the morning of July 24th, the Criminal Investigation Agency of the An Giang Provincial Police announced that they had issued an arrest warrant for Danh Quanh for the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".

The object is Danh Quanh.

Taking advantage of the trust and lack of vigilance of the people, Danh Quanh (born in 1980, residing in Van Thanh hamlet, Tho Son commune, Hon Dat district, former Kien Giang province ) and his accomplices conspired to defraud people of billions of dong in rice purchase deposits.

According to the case file, between December 2023 and January 2024, Danh Quanh and several other individuals, who did not own any farmland, conspired to lure seven rice buyers to plots of land belonging to local residents in Hon Dat district, Kien Giang province (now An Giang province) to sign numerous rice purchase and sale contracts, thereby misappropriating a total of over 5.7 billion VND in rice deposits.

The Investigation Police Department of Hon Dat District (formerly) issued a decision to initiate a criminal case, indict the suspect, and issue an arrest warrant for Danh Quanh for the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property." However, suspect Quanh fled the area, and the Investigation Police Department of An Giang Province issued a wanted notice for Quanh.

The An Giang Provincial Police Department requests that anyone has the right to apprehend Danh Quanh and immediately bring him to the nearest police station, prosecutor's office, or People's Committee. After apprehending or receiving the wanted suspect, please immediately notify Investigator Nguyen Ngoc Liep, Team 3, Office of the Criminal Investigation Agency, An Giang Provincial Police Department.
