This is a dream success for young entrepreneurs in the technology sector. To achieve this, the young entrepreneur from Nghe An province has overcome many difficult and challenging initial steps.

Born and raised in a poor family in Nghe An province, Mr. Luc lived a life of hardship, his only asset being his passion for information technology. He recounted: “Through newspapers, magazines, and books, I developed a particular interest in information technology. My father was a teacher, so he had many books, some of which were science fiction. The more I read, the more I liked them, and gradually, my passion for technology became deeply ingrained in my subconscious. Therefore, after finishing high school, I decided to apply to study information technology.”

His ambition to start his own company in his favorite field had been brewing since his student days. After graduating, he worked for a multinational corporation, expanding his knowledge through experiences with large clients and corporations. After seven years, he felt a strong enough urge to decide to start his own business. Reflecting on the moment he made the decision, he feels it came a little sooner than initially planned. However, once he made the decision, he didn't hesitate: "There are moments that seem predetermined, and you just wholeheartedly pursue your goals and ideals with all your effort, even knowing that many obstacles lie ahead."

Success is not about the destination…

According to businessman Nguyen Xuan Luc, success lies not in the destination but in the entire process. In the early stages of his startup, he and his colleagues had to handle every aspect of the business, from sales and customer service to market research and human resources, while also surviving in a fiercely competitive market.

For many years, he accepted the trade-off, trying to forget about fun, gatherings, and dates. There were days when he had to stay up until 4 am working with foreign partners due to time zone differences. “During difficult times, there were moments when I doubted myself, but passion and ambition were the inner strength that helped me continue on my journey. Once you put your heart and soul into your entrepreneurial path, all obstacles will no longer be a burden,” Mr. Luc shared.

Just when things seemed to be running smoothly, the COVID-19 pandemic struck, plunging the economy into recession. However, WATA, led by young entrepreneur Nguyen Xuan Luc, maintained its composure to overcome this difficult period. "The key is adaptability and flexibility in all circumstances," Luc explained, adding, "WATA's young leaders grasped the situation very quickly. They were flexible, inquisitive, and researched to find solutions suitable to the circumstances, alongside a resilient and enduring spirit. All these qualities combined to create the strength that propelled WATA through the challenges."

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Luc is among the Top 10 Outstanding Young Entrepreneurs of 2023, organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association. In addition, Mr. Luc also received the title of Advanced Youth Following President Ho Chi Minh's Teachings, 7th National Award, 2023.

Sharing his thoughts on opportunities for young people in the digital age, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Luc stated that information technology is only a part, not the whole, of life: “Don’t chase the crowd; look inward to identify your strengths, talents, and ambitions, and from there determine your own path. Equip yourself with skills, experience, and knowledge, and dedicate yourself wholeheartedly to your goals.”

According to Mr. Luc, young people who want to start a business should participate in entrepreneurship competitions and programs to find a solid foundation or a mentor to accompany them, making the road ahead less difficult and shortening the time spent fumbling alone to find their way.
