Wandering along the streets of Hue City with the members of the Volunteer Team (VTF) to give gifts to cleaning ladies and elderly women in difficult circumstances on the occasion of the holiday, we can see how meaningful their work is. That is just one of dozens of meaningful activities that the members of the VTF have carried out recently.

Three times a week, some Youth Union members are assigned to go to disadvantaged children with weak academic performance at Nguyen Trai, Ngo Kha, and Quang Trung primary schools to tutor and teach them math and Vietnamese.

Student Ha Van Thai Khang, class 3.1 (Ngo Kha Primary School) shared: Thanks to the extra tutoring from the students after school, I have a firm grasp of the knowledge.

Always present in the tutoring sessions for primary school students, Tran Thi Thanh Van, a second-year student from the Faculty of Literature, University of Education, shared: Most of the weak students have very difficult family circumstances, so when the schools cooperate with the Youth Union to help with tutoring, the students attend school very diligently, always listen and study hard. Most of them have made remarkable progress in their academic performance.

Meaningful gifts and performances by team members brought to the children of Huong Son Kindergarten, Nam Dong district in the program "Warm winter clothes" bring warmth and love to children in the highlands at the end of 2022.

With a large number of members, but with professional activities, members are divided into 8 small groups, each group has a group leader for easy management and connection. Activities are planned in detail about tasks and time for members to choose and register to participate in accordance with their study time. That is also important to help members actively participate in volunteer activities while still achieving high results in their studies.

Duong Thi Ha Giang , Team Leader of the Youth Union, shared: All members share a passion for volunteering. The places we go to can be remote areas or the people we come into contact with are the poor, the sick, and those in difficult circumstances. We operate based on the funds contributed by all members and carry out fundraising programs such as selling flowers on holidays, selling water, selling snacks, etc. All income and expenditure of the team are transparent and clearly monitored, so members always actively contribute and arrange time to participate in fundraising activities.

With youthful enthusiasm

As a member who is always active in charity activities, Le Nguyen Minh Nguyen confided: Charity work is not paid, members must spend their own money to contribute to the group's activities. Many gift-giving trips to remote areas take a lot of time to prepare and travel, but when registering to participate, members arrange their time and study to regularly participate in group activities.

Looking at the young students busily and carefully preparing and wrapping gifts of candy and toys for the children at Tam Binh Shelter (Thuy Xuan, Hue City) on the occasion of International Children's Day, one can feel their enthusiasm and heart for volunteer work.

For the team members participating in volunteer activities: "Living is giving, not just receiving for oneself", so each person tries their best to bring faith and love in life to difficult and unfortunate circumstances in life. Regardless of whether the charity site is far or near, whether the work is much or little, each young person who has registered to participate always actively participates in all parts of the work, fully present at all activities. Each volunteer trip organized by the team usually has from 20-70 members participating.

Thanks to volunteer trips, many students have experienced new lands, new things, shared joys and sorrows with people they met for the first time to practice communication skills and life skills.
