To support candidates in overcoming the "exam challenge," the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Youth Union is implementing the "Exam Support Program" with many practical activities to ensure the exam takes place safely and seriously...

Accompanying the candidates

To provide timely support to students taking exams, starting in May 2025, the Standing Committee of the City Youth Union proactively issued a plan to organize the "Exam Support Program," directing all levels of the Youth Union and Youth Association to meticulously prepare support plans throughout the exam period, with the goal of creating the most favorable environment to help candidates focus on their studies and achieve the best possible results.

According to Nguyen Tien Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union and President of the Vietnam Student Association of Hanoi City: "Exam Support Teams have been established in localities and units, equipped with knowledge about the exam and basic skills necessary for volunteers, thereby proactively supporting candidates and their parents through various channels."

Besides direct activities, the program also focuses on supporting candidates through online platforms, providing information, answering questions, and offering timely psychological counseling. In particular, in light of the changes in the implementation of the 10th grade entrance exam and the 2025 high school graduation exam, the "Exam Support Program" has been revamped and creatively adapted by the Standing Committee of the City Youth Union to better suit these changes.

In particular, the city-level "Exam Support" team is also strongly focused on digital transformation. Volunteers will be deployed to the "Digital Volunteers - Exam Support" team with tasks such as: manning the Exam Support hotline; compiling support needs; answering questions related to exam information for candidates; receiving and compiling information on disadvantaged candidates needing support, etc.

At Youth Union and Association branches, preparations are underway today (June 5th) to welcome and support candidates for the next three days of the 10th grade entrance exam. For example, at 8 exam locations in Dong Da district, the District Youth Union has arranged volunteers along with free supplies such as bottled water, school supplies, and handheld fans to support candidates and their families when needed.

According to Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam, Secretary of the District Youth Union and President of the Vietnam Youth Union of Dong Da District: “At each examination site, the District Youth Union has assigned 50 volunteers. These volunteers encourage candidates before and after the exam; assist candidates in necessary situations, such as: escorting candidates with mobility difficulties into the examination room; helping candidates who have forgotten their documents; and providing transportation for candidates and their families when assistance is needed in unforeseen circumstances…”

Ready to lend a hand

This year, at 201 examination centers across the city, the Youth Union and Student Association at all levels deployed "Exam Support Teams," selecting and training over 4,000 volunteers. These volunteers are ready to work at the examination centers as assigned by the organizing committee, proactively responding to all situations, undeterred by sun or rain, ensuring the best possible support for students taking the 10th grade entrance exam.

Having participated in the "Supporting Students During Exams" program for three consecutive seasons, Le Doan Anh, Vice President of the Student Volunteer Club at the Water Resources University, shared: "The volunteer team at the exam site I'm in charge of has about 20 volunteers, whose nhiệm vụ is to ensure traffic flow management at the exam site, support candidates before and after the exam, coordinate with functional forces to guide candidates' family members waiting at designated points, ensure security and safety throughout the exam period, and provide support in other unforeseen situations."

Feeling honored to be a volunteer supporting the exam candidates, Le Minh Nguyet, a second-year student in the Accounting and Auditing Department (Banking Academy), shared: "Every year during exam season, I register to volunteer for the 'Exam Support Program'. We are rushing to prepare for activities to support the 10th grade entrance exam. We will also support the candidates in the smallest ways, such as simply offering a word of encouragement and being ready to assist when needed. I hope to help motivate, empower, and encourage the candidates to maintain their spirits and perform well in this important exam."

With the goal of ensuring that no student has to drop out of the exam due to difficult circumstances, the Hanoi Youth Union has directed district and town youth unions to conduct investigations and surveys to compile lists of students from impoverished households, those with difficult circumstances, and those with disabilities, in order to develop specific support plans. In addition to providing free transportation, food, and accommodation during the exam period for disadvantaged students, the Youth Union continues to seek and mobilize resources to award "Supporting Students to School" scholarships to these students…

“In addition to supporting candidates before, during, and after the exam, the Hanoi City Youth Union and Student Association also require local Youth Union branches to form volunteer teams to assist students with enrollment procedures; find and recommend safe and affordable accommodation, creating conditions for students to adapt to the new learning environment; organize and coordinate “Welcome New Students” activities at colleges, universities, and academies to help new students get acquainted with the activities and movements of the Youth Union and Student Association… All these activities contribute to creating a safe and friendly exam season, helping candidates, especially those facing difficulties, to have more motivation and confidence to enter the important exam and achieve the expected results,” Comrade Nguyen Tien Hung emphasized.
