Throughout each revolutionary period, our province has always paid special attention to youth work. During the resistance war, many specific movements and activities were launched and organized to encourage the youth of the province to enthusiastically compete, take the lead, and volunteer on the fronts of production, combat, labor, and study, further enhancing the glorious tradition of Thanh Hoa's youth. Notably, in response to the "Three Ready" and "Five Volunteer" movements with the spirit of "Cutting through the Truong Son Mountains to save the country," tens of thousands of young people enthusiastically participated in both production and combat against the relentless attacks of the American enemy. Among them, thousands of outstanding sons and daughters of the homeland bravely sacrificed their lives or left a part of their blood on the battlefield. Many collectives and individuals received commendations and certificates of merit from President Ho Chi Minh, the Party, and the Government ; notably, 53 young people were awarded the Ho Chi Minh Badge; 83 young people were honored as Heroes of the Armed Forces; and 6 young people were awarded the title of Hero of Labor...
During the construction of socialism in the North, in conjunction with President Ho Chi Minh's visits to Thanh Hoa and his numerous letters of encouragement, praise, and commendation of the achievements of the Party Committee and people of Thanh Hoa, President Ho Chi Minh always dedicated a section to the youth and children. On his fourth and final visit to Thanh Hoa (December 1961), speaking to the people and cadres of the province, he affirmed: “Our province has nearly 120,000 Party members and Youth Union members, a very large force. Cadres, Party members, and Youth Union members must truly take the lead, set an example in increasing production, practicing thrift... Strive to develop and strengthen the Party and the Youth Union; unite the entire people to compete and progress together.”
During his visit to the Yen Truong Cooperative in Yen Truong commune, President Ho Chi Minh praised and commended several outstanding achievements of the cooperative that need to be further developed; he presented his badge to several outstanding individuals participating in the production emulation movement, such as Trinh Gia Minh, a young man from Yen Truong commune, who completed 113 cubic meters of irrigation, 370 quintals of fertilizer, and contributed 332 man-days of labor; and Hoang Thi An, also from Yen Truong commune, who completed 100 cubic meters of irrigation, 140 quintals of fertilizer, and contributed 300 man-days of labor. At the same time, he took the time to inquire about the "Three Ready" movement of the youth union.
Uncle Ho praised and encouraged the youth union members to continue maintaining the movement, lighting torches to build irrigation systems and make fertilizer at night so that they could participate in agricultural production in the fields with cooperative members during the day. Uncle Ho's words of encouragement motivated the Party committee, the government, the people, and the youth at that time to strive in their work and studies, breaking many records. Many young people even forgot about family responsibilities, dedicating themselves to collective work to become champions in irrigation, rice planting, duckweed cultivation, and reforestation...

Today, youth are always placed at the center of the strategy for nurturing and developing human resources, ensuring the stability and sustainable development of the country. Deeply aware of the position and role of youth, on April 2, 2014, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee issued Directive No. 18-CT/TU on “Strengthening the leadership of Party committees at all levels over youth work in the new situation”. In implementing the Provincial Party Committee's directive, localities and units have done a good job in training, educating , and nurturing the younger generation and upholding the responsibility of youth towards their homeland and country.
Building a strong Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in Thanh Hoa province, politically, ideologically, and organizationally, truly serving as a reliable reserve force of the Party and the political core of the movement, has always been a key objective and task that the Provincial Youth Union has paid close attention to and directed. Currently, the province has over 1 million members participating in grassroots youth union organizations. In recent years, the provincial youth union branches have successfully organized major movements and campaigns, such as: "Youth building their lives and careers," "Youth volunteering," etc. Through participation in these movements and campaigns, youth union members have enhanced their awareness, sense of responsibility, and obligations to society; improved their political acumen, and strengthened their trust in the Party's leadership and the State's policies and laws. These movements have created a favorable environment for young cadres to gain experience, self-improve, mature, and contribute to the Party's resources.
For example, in Tho Long commune, a young cadre who has been trained and matured through youth union work and youth movements, having previously held positions such as Secretary of the Tho Xuan District Youth Union, Secretary of the Party Committee of Xuan Tan commune (formerly), and Head of the Inspection Committee of the Tho Xuan District Party Committee, in July 2025, Comrade Luu Thi Anh Dao was again assigned the task of Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Tho Long commune. Comrade Luu Thi Anh Dao shared: “In all my positions, I have always successfully completed the tasks assigned by the Party Committee and the government. This is also one of the key tasks, a good condition for me to mature, become steadfast in political qualities and professional skills, accumulate practical experience, and develop comprehensive leadership methods, contributing to improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party.”
Continuing the glorious journey of generations of forefathers, today's young generation remains steadfast in their faith in the Party's leadership, upholding the spirit of patriotism and striving to contribute to building and defending the Fatherland.
