Tuyen Quang: People show high consensus on administrative unit merger.

NDO - On April 20th, all communes, wards, and towns in Tuyen Quang province simultaneously held community meetings to gather public opinion on the plan to merge commune-level administrative units and consolidate Tuyen Quang province with Ha Giang province, in accordance with document No. 1724/UBND-NC of the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province regarding public consultation; procedures for approving the policy on rearranging administrative units.

Specifically: Gathering opinions from voters in all communes, wards, and towns regarding the merger of the two provinces of Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang , under the name Tuyen Quang. The political and administrative center will be located in the current Tuyen Quang; Gathering opinions from voters on the content and plan for rearranging administrative units at the commune level. Attending the meetings were leaders from districts and cities, and officials from specialized departments inspecting and directing activities in villages and residential areas. Commune-level leaders participated in presiding over and guiding the organization of public meetings and the collection of opinions, ensuring compliance with regulations and procedures as guided by the Provincial People's Committee.

Prior to the merger, the communes, wards, and towns of the province had notified households, prepared documents and discussion topics, and conducted voting meetings in a systematic and serious manner. Therefore, the process of gathering public opinion proceeded smoothly, seriously, and on schedule. The people showed strong agreement and support for the proposed arrangements, expressing their trust in the leadership of the Party and the State, and their expectations for a new phase of development after the merger.

Residents of Group 18, Phan Thiet Ward, Tuyen Quang City, Tuyen Quang Province are implementing the plan to merge administrative units at the commune level and consolidate Tuyen Quang Province with Ha Giang Province.

The public consultation period will take place on April 20th. Afterwards, the commune People's Committee will report the results to the district People's Committee no later than 8 PM on April 20th.

The District People's Committee must submit a report to the Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee no later than 10:00 AM on April 21st.

Earlier, on the afternoon of April 19th, the leaders of Tuyen Quang province inspected several locations where offices and accommodation for leaders, civil servants, and officials of Ha Giang province were planned after the merger of the two provinces.

Following an on-site inspection, Provincial Party Secretary Ha Thi Nga requested the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee to direct relevant departments and units to urgently review the infrastructure and implement the construction, repair, and supplementation of equipment and living supplies at the selected locations to be used as accommodation for officials from Ha Giang province who will be working after the province's merger.

Provincial Party Secretary Ha Thi Nga also requested the Provincial People's Committee to direct the working groups of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Steering Committee to coordinate with the Ha Giang Provincial Steering Committee to review, compile, and accurately determine the number of officials, civil servants, and employees working at the merged provincial administrative center. This is to proactively develop appropriate and thoughtful arrangements to ensure that the staff can confidently perform their duties at the new location.
