A survey of several banks, specifically the listed exchange rates at Vietnam Foreign Trade Commercial Bank (Vietcombank): 26,105 VND/USD (buying) - 26,355 VND/USD (selling); Vietnam Investment and Development Bank (BIDV) listed 26,145 VND/USD (buying) - 26,355 VND/USD (selling); Vietnam Technological and Commercial Bank (Techcombank) listed 26,066 VND/USD (buying) - 26,355 VND/USD (selling); and Asia Commercial Bank (ACB ) listed 26,120 VND/USD (buying) - 26,355 VND/USD (selling).
Today's USD exchange rate on the free market is 28,030 VND/USD (buying) - 28,080 VND/USD (selling), a sharp increase of 110 dong in both directions compared to the end of last week.
The DXY index, which measures the strength of the US dollar against a basket of six major international currencies (EUR, JPY, GBP, CAD, SEK, CHF), rose to 100.15 points, up 0.25%. This development indicates that the US dollar continues to strengthen, reflecting increased demand for holding USD as US bond yields stabilize and expectations remain that the Federal Reserve (FED) will not ease monetary policy. Additionally, political instability in several countries is also supporting the dollar's appreciation.
