Despite limited funding, inadequate infrastructure, and low public awareness of waste sorting at source, the collection, transportation, and treatment of solid household waste have been given attention and implemented appropriately to the practical conditions. Specifically, 100% of urban areas in the province have units responsible for collecting solid household waste; Ha Giang city and four districts (Vi Xuyen, Bac Quang, Hoang Su Phi, and Meo Vac) process urban household waste through landfilling or natural disposal; and in Yen Minh and Quang Binh districts, waste is sorted and processed using incinerators, meeting environmental standards.
