Nurturing Happiness

The year 2025 marks a proud milestone as Vietnam rises to 46th place in the World Happiness Report, an increase of 8 places compared to the previous year.

This achievement is not merely an indicator, but a recognition of Vietnam's persistent efforts in creating a safe and humane living environment; it also reflects the optimistic, compassionate spirit and shared aspirations of millions of Vietnamese people always striving towards a prosperous, thriving, and loving future.

Continuing that pride, the Vietnam Happy Fest 2025, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Hanoi People's Committee, is taking place on the Hoan Kiem Lake pedestrian street in Hanoi (from December 5th to 7th). It is not only a community cultural activity but also a journey that evokes emotions, where joy and sharing are awakened through each experience.

With its "Path to Happiness" model, participants journey through 13 stops, from digital exhibitions and art photobooths to the "Tree of Happiness" and the "Map of Happiness." At each stop, visitors not only observe but also touch and feel, rediscovering the sensations that the fast pace of modern life easily diminishes. In a world where many consider busyness the measure of success and technology is developing at a dizzying pace, human connection often becomes fragile. Therefore, Vietnam Happy Fest 2025 emerges as a moment of quiet reflection, reminding us of the value of peace and presence.

The event didn't aim for far-fetched theories about "great happiness," but gently brought people back to everyday life, allowing them to truly experience their emotions. In the pedestrian area around Hoan Kiem Lake, participants could connect with the community through genuine interactions: children drawing, young people chatting, older people strolling leisurely and admiring the streets… Happiness sometimes comes very gently; a spontaneous drawing, a well-timed message, or a moment captured in a photograph is enough to warm the heart.

Modern society talks a lot about economic growth, Industry 4.0, artificial intelligence... but we are increasingly realizing that the quality of life cannot be measured solely by the intelligence of robots. A strong community is one where all citizens feel safe, respected, and have faith in one another. Vietnam Happy Fest 2025, in this way, opens up a necessary conversation about "sustainable happiness," a measure that many countries are pursuing when placing people at the center of sustainable development.

Especially in the context of the growing social media landscape, which brings many connections but also easily sows pressure and skepticism, happiness becomes an "intangible asset" for each nation. A community is only truly strong when people know how to trust each other, when kindness is not considered a rarity. When each person chooses to be a little more tolerant, kind, and sharing, the seeds of happiness will be nurtured, not only for others but also for themselves, their families, and the communities where they live, study, and work. And it is these small seeds that form the foundation for a society to move forward in warmth, trust, civilization, and happiness.
