Dang Van Lam is the "king of second place".
Born in 1993 in Russia, Dang Van Lam possesses a superior physique with a height of 1.88m and impressive arm span. Having received professional training at renowned Russian youth academies such as Spartak Moscow and Dynamo Moscow, Lam "Tay" (Lam the Westerner) has exceptional reflexes, intelligent positioning, and, most importantly, a strong sense of composure and excellent control of the penalty area.
During his career, Dang Van Lam won the 2024/25 National First Division Championship with Ninh Binh FC. In addition, the 33-year-old goalkeeper also won the 2018 AFF Cup with the Vietnam national team.

However, Dang Van Lam has also finished second and third on several occasions in various tournaments. Specifically, in 2022, Lam "Tay" and Binh Dinh FC finished second in the V.League but lost 0-2 to Hanoi FC in the National Cup final. At the same time, he and the Vietnamese national team lost 2-3 to Thailand in the 2022 AFF Cup final.
In 2023, Dang Van Lam and Binh Dinh FC lost 0-1 to The Cong Viettel in the semi-finals of the National Cup. In the 2024 V.League season, the goalkeeper born in 1993, along with the Binh Dinh team, finished as runners-up in the V.League.
In the 2025/26 season, Dang Van Lam and Ninh Binh FC finished 3rd in the V.League, behind CAHN and The Cong Viettel. In the 2025/26 National Cup final on the evening of June 14th, the team from the ancient capital suffered a 1-2 defeat against Ho Chi Minh City Police FC.
