Van Don: Received 114 units of blood.

On the morning of May 12th, in Quan Lan commune (Van Don district), the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation of Van Don district organized the 2023 Blood Donation Day.

Locals participate in a voluntary blood donation drive organized in Quan Lan island commune.

With the theme "Drops of Red Blood from Van Don Port", the blood donation day attracted hundreds of officials, civil servants, armed forces personnel, youth union members, and residents in Quan Lan and Minh Chau communes.

As a result, the organizing committee collected 114 units of blood, achieving 114% of the planned target. This blood will be used for treating patients at medical facilities in the province. This is a practical and meaningful activity in response to the "Humanitarian Month" and the "Red Journey" program in 2023.

It is known that from 2018 to the present, the Steering Committee for Blood Donation in Van Don district has selected the Quan Lan and Minh Chau island communes to organize annual blood donation activities. As a result of 6 blood donation drives organized in this island commune cluster, a total of 574 units of blood have been collected to date.

Leaders of the Van Don District Red Cross Society presented certificates of commendation to collectives and individuals who achieved outstanding results in the blood donation movement.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society and the Van Don District Red Cross Society awarded certificates of merit and commendations to collectives and individuals in Quan Lan and Minh Chau communes for their outstanding achievements in the blood donation movement in 2022.

On the occasion of "Humanitarian Month" in 2023, the Van Don District Red Cross Society presented gifts to 5 disadvantaged families.
