Movement to build traffic bridges

(CT) - According to Ms. Do Thi Diem Kieu, Vice Chairwoman of Thoi Tan Commune People's Committee, Thoi Lai District, the Commune People's Committee has just coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, sponsors and the People's Committee of Dien Hoa Hamlet to organize the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Mai Nuoc Bridge, connecting Dien Hoa Hamlet (Thoi Tan Commune, Thoi Lai District) with Dong Thanh Hamlet (Dong Hiep Commune, Co Do District).

According to local leaders, the old bridge was degraded, the bridge surface was narrow, and travel was difficult. In that situation, the Commune People's Committee coordinated with the People's Committee of Dien Hoa Hamlet to organize a meeting with the people to collect opinions on building the bridge. Thereby, the people agreed to contribute money and working days to build the bridge.

The newly built Mai Nuoc Bridge is 20m long and 3.5m wide. The total estimated value of the project is over 220 million VND. Of which, the family of Mrs. Tran Anh Thy and her children (overseas Vietnamese in the US) supported 180 million VND and local people contributed money and labor days worth over 40 million VND.
